Can anyone speak to the difference this makes?

Since the diesel fix (I assume its the culprit but still searching for any possible other cause if someone knows something I dont..) our 14 TDI has this sort of constant stutter thru light accel and when driving steady state. Its worse when cold and in town than highway cruising. Its annoying to the point we about to just get rid of it if we cant fix it.

Neither the wife or I want to drive it this way and never would have bought a vehicle new that felt like this.

If its a function of the Trans locking/unlocking on the new setup, sign me up for restoring back to OEM tune.
 
The ECU tune will likely get you flagged TD1 (voided) The TCU does not have a flash counter from my understanding. Maybe someone else can confirm?

Yes that is part of the fixed tcm software, you can check out my other thread that has much more info in it.
 
I’m sure this is covered in the other gigantic post...but I don’t have the patience to read. Maybe we can start again with some simple facts. What is the current fee for the flash and how long have you guys been on the wait list?

I second this. I have paged through a large chunk of both threads and its hard to weed out info vs people asking to be put on the waitlist. Is there a better way than having people reply on the thread asking to be on the waitlist? PM's? That's what is blowing up the thread.

By the way, am I on the waitlist? I posted almost a month ago and have not heard anything in response.
 
I finally got my TCU tune last week after several weeks wait.
Joe has been having serious back issues and is often offline for several days / weeks. But he does eventually seem to reply.

$250 for the flash, plus a deposit. Waiting list depends on the model, and year.

I have 2 modules in the exchange program for most of the models. Q7's and Cayennes are the rarer ones.
Finally have a module coming in to cover the 15-16 Cayenne's

Sorry been doing a bunch of stuff in the background... but have been trying to stay on top of PM's and have still been working on the list of people so we are getting there ;)
 
A quick question - has anybody gone through state emission tests with pre-fix TCU unit? I am in Colorado and in 2 years I will need to get the car through the first state emissions. I am not sure whether it is just a simple ODB port test or actual exhaust measurement. Any thoughts?

I did a recent emissions on my Touareg TDI and I did it in Morrison, CO. They hook the vehicle up to a dyno, exhaust has that thing put into it and its tested that way. I did it post " VW-fix" tcu. I'm planning on getting Yrktreg TCU fix and probably his ECU tune if it will improve gas mileage. From what the guy told me in Morrison about Touaregs emissions, the TCU will have no bearing on passing emissions and neither will a tune.
 
You did the TCU tune after an ECU tune? Which tune did you go with: Malone/Unitronic/Kerma/Yrktreg ECU tune? Any MPG increases with better shifting trans?
Yes ECU first. Unitronic tune. Did not notice and MPG difference but do mostly city driving so would be hard to notice.
