I posted some pics of these on another thread but finally had some time today to take some pics in the daylight.

Replaced the original gas and brake pedal and then got the emergency brake pedal from a VW Phaeton and modified it.

Got these wooden grab handles off a VW Phaeton and changed them out as well, the originals were the standard hard plastic.

Also added the chrome strips below the headlights as well as the Chrome side mirror covers

Now as for the front end of the Touareg, it is what I really like about the look of the car, clean and unobtrusive.

Unfortunately Indonesia demands a front license tag and VW sure fugly's up the front end with that.

So click the link below and see what happens........

Hidden License Tag on a Touareg

So far driving for 2 weeks now without the front license tag showing and no cops have stopped me yet. Cops here are asleep at the wheel.

Very tasteful mods, nicely done!!...I've heard the Phaeton grab handles are expensive (ie $300 bucks each expensive). Did you get a good deal on them?

Bought them for (I think) 225 USD for all 4 from Fast Frank from here on CT.

Have had compliments from others and the CEO of VW Indonesia came down to the shop and took pics, said he wanted to show it to a customer he had that thought he may like it. They match perfectly with the wood inlays in the dash and console.

Hey Black Adder,
you have me interested with your chrome additions. Very tasteful :D
Can you give any more information like price and where you got the horizontal strips from, that really sets your vehicle off.

Yeah the Chrome strips under the headlights were free from VW Indonesia, I believe if buying you could get them for 40 or 45 USD, not sure. They attached via external heavy duty double sided tape already inside the strip. They are definitely original from VW as I saw the box they came out of when they installed them and the VW part numbers are as follows:

Left side: 7L6853241 2ZZ and the Right side is: 7L6853242 2ZZ

Thank you thank you thank you. Have been trying to find out the part numbers for them for ages now...so it is off to the local dealer on Monday.

I also wanted to ask you on the mirror caps they look great on a black vehicle, how to you rate them for fit and finish?

Excellent fit and finish, the chroming could be a little thicker but........

I bought them because some of our roads here in Indonesia or are quite tight and most Honda, Toyota, Ford SUVs come standard equipped with them since there are quite of few cars passing each other and tapping side mirrors.

With these the 1st week I had them on I had a Ford Everest (Explorer in the States) swerve towards me at the last minute to aviod a food cart on his side. His complete side mirror came off and was left hanging by the wires, mine did not budge and the chrome cap did not dent or bent it just scrapped a little bit of chrome off the cap, but to give it it's due, we knocked HARD.

These were the ones that I ordered and installed: Mirror Covers - Chrome Touareg II [7L00725301ZL] - $235.00 : OEMpl.us, Original Equipment

If you really want just ask and I can take some close up pics and post them for you here if you desire.

And for all you non americans I took care of shipping for him:cool:

And a fine job you have done on both of my shipments, Thanks Mark.

Black Adder, I agree with the others that your modifications are exquisite! I respect that taste you have added to your Touareg. Does anybody here know if the Phaeton grab handles will fit a 2013/T3 Touareg?
