How To ID Touareg Trim Packages???

One of the things I'm noticing as I cruise the internet every 2nd or 3rd day looking for the right TDI Touareg to pop up, is that there are a helluva lot of dealer ads out there where the list of features and options listed for the car don't seem to match what's in the car photos. (This appears quite often.) For aspiring VW owners, is there any telltale way to ID a trim package (and hence determine the standard options on that car) by looking at photos when the pics and verbiage don't seem to match well? Current case in point is a 2012 TDI I've found on the net. Pics clearly show a panorama sunroof on the car, and what appear to be great looking saddle-brown ???leather??? seats, but no upgraded stereo system, so I'm assuming that this must be a Lux Package??? Vehicle description does not include the sunroof, and calls out the seats as "leatherette", and has enough other inconsistencies that it makes me wonder if the wrong description was pasted onto this car ad??? If a TREG has the sunroof, does it automatically fall into the Lux or Exec lines in 2012, and does that also imply that the seats are leather as opposed to leatherette? Any help along these lines would be appreciated.

Download the official brochures for your market and specific year you are looking at.
Dealers\owners\sellers usually don't know what they are talking about.
Study each brochure and flush out options which identify the specific trims to confirm what you're looking at.
If you can get to the vehicle (or if the seller is willing to provide it), look for the PR codes.... you can use those to figure out all options\equipment on the vehicle.

You can also have a dealership parts department email you the build spec (all the options and trim level) using the VIN.

This is what I did when I found a GM dealer selling a Treg as Highline when I knew/suspected it was Exec because of the audio package.

Awesome -- thx for all the help! Just logged 900 miles in the last 30 hrs, but came home with the Touareg in question for this post, so all the feedback was timely and appreciated. (I will say the last half of the trip was much more comfortable than the first half -- love the Treg seats...)

Ahh you're on the other side of the world - you guys get a totally different classification of VAG cars vs the US (even Canada is different!)
