So after a couple thousand dollars of work getting my drive shaft replaced and timing belt done, my check engine light is on. The codes are:

P0301 - Cyl.1 Misfire Detected

P0153 - O2 Sensor Circ.,Bank2-Sensor1 Slow Response

The car doesn't drive horribly...there is a medium intensity vibration under acceleration at lower RPMs; mostly goes away at higher RPMs. I'm hoping the two are related and won't be too much more money in repairs. Any ideas?

Cheers!

I would make a note of those, clear the codes with your VAG-COM and see if they come back. If they do looks like your pre-cat O2 sensor may be going. The P0301 may be transient. If not you may need a new coil pack.

If you are throwing codes like that and have a hesitation at low speeds you are going into "limp mode". The O2 sensor is most likely throwing the Air/Fuel mixture off giving you a Cylinder 1 misfire. I have the same thing going on in my Mini Cooper. You need to get that fixed asap. You dont want to be driving and having misfires. If you do you could have a MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE code like I had....and thats never good...lol.
