I suggest you search for service centres who "recharge" struts. I have had a couple of set done here in Melbourne AU, and they have been very effective and much less cost than replacements.

G'day Stuart. I'm from Melbs originally myself - which dealership / mechanic do you recommend? I'll be coming home next year so will need one! I'm down in the Brighton area.. cheers

Not too sure but I'd reckon they're factory. The previous owner treated this treg like crap so the headlight glass is so scuffed you can't tell from the outside!

Local retail for new bonnet struts were quoting near on $AUD200pr.

Searched the Bay of E and found a UK supplier selling OEM with 12 month warranty and free postage for $AUD85.00 a pair. Win win.

I am in the North West, so I can't recommend any dealers down your way, however if you're a still looking for struts, they are;

Stuart....

I replaced my hood, sorry, bonnet struts earlier this year with Stong Arm #6629 struts. Purchased off Amazon for $50/pr shipped. US made and I believe a limited life time on the cartridge. Took a total of 5 minutes to install. A lot beefier than the stock struts.

You don't have to rip off the headliner, just drop ot a bit from the instructions I have seen.
Given the efforts to replace them, why used used/recharged just to save a few pennies (even if you can find a place here)?
