I do about 30% city and 70% freeway at 68 to 78 mph! I get 16.4 m/g with about 2000 m on the meter. I hope to get a little better once I have 5000 m on. Ihad that experience with my 2004 V6, which I had up to 18.3 m/g under the same driving conditions. I expect the V8 to get around 17 m/g.

Grrr, so how can one view the results without placing a vote? I'm interested in the results but as I currently have a V6 I'm not going to put erroneous data up there just so that I can see it. Could you perhaps add a "null" button to the poll for us non-V8 owners?

Cheers,

On average for a tank I get around 19 MPG lately. But then again almost all my driving is on the level freeway and crusie control is locked at 65 or 70 MPH (since my second speeding ticket in the TReg).

Driving around the hilly streets of San Fran on the weekends I get around 14.2 or less.

Also noticed that most of the gas stations that I go to have a $50 limit and with gas prices today, I can't fill up the Treg completely. I usually have to use two credit cards. Last fill up was $54 at $2.71 gallon premium at Shell.

I beleive the $50 limit is only if you are using a credit card or check card. Limits are set by the banks to protect you (they say). Same is true for maximum ATM withdrawal where most banks have a $500 daily cash withdrawal.
My 2004 V-6 gets about 14 in city & up to 16.5 on the freeway. I have 28K
There is no credit limit on my cards. I called to check. It is the gas stations that have set the limit. No sure why they need to enforce such actions. I can understand why a credit card company would though. But in this case they are not. To fill up my boat and car for a weekend at the lake could easily be in excess of $100. How many cards do they expect you to have? Ridiculous.

gas stations

The gas stations set that limit so someone does'nt charge $200 in gas on a card with only $20 available on it. They do a small pre-authorization for each fill up. Then they make you re-swipe the card at each $50 interval so they don't get stiffed.

P.S. I never had to use a different card each time. The same card usually works.

My Shell has a $50 limit, my Chevron does not

Shell only wanted $50 of my money, that was last week when premium was $2.69. This week, prices went up to $2.77 and Chevron was happy to take my $56.

Not to add a whole new debate here, but does the brand of gasoline really matter. I understand the benefits of premium gas, but doesn't most gas station receive their gas from the same refineries? There is a Vons (grocery store) gas station by my house that has lower prices. Would I be taking unnecessary risks buying that gas?

P.S. I am not complaining about gas prices here, I knew what I was buying when I decided on this great vehicle.

Suspension setting affects mileage

I just had an opportunity to do a 180 mile roundtrip at interstate speeds of 75-80. Going to my destination I set the 4-corner air suspension at "sport". Coming back I set it to "comfort". I believe there is a statistically significant difference in mileage due to the lowered chassis position with the sport setting. Using the "mileage since start" computer, I recorded 18.9 mph going and about 17.4 mph coming back. I have about 2,300 miles on my 2005 V8.
Even though I can't prove the conditions were totally equivalent, neither trip was at rush hour so the drive was pretty much unbroken freeway driving.

This doesn't work for me.
