Two main areas of concern:
1/ Twisting/pulling on accel and deceleration. (feels like both wheels on same axle are trying to go different speeds or a possible Motor/Tran mount)
  • a lot of clunking in and out of park-drive-reverse.
    • Random smaller clunking while driving on side streets, ie: slower speeds.
  • Lots of play in the drive-train after you put the car in park a high percentage of the time.
  • Sloppy Steering (Alignment, tires, weights are all good).
    • feels like it’s being pushed side to side on the road while on un-even terrain. You can really feel in the steering wheel.
  • significant vibration (feeling/noise) coming from the drivetrain somewhere
    • can be felt more frequently when accelerating from a stop and making a right-hand turn.
2/Oil/fluid staining around the engine and poor driving performance. (Lag/Hesitation/Surge in acceleration)
  • Visibly leaking around the fuel injector seal area it is leaking on both engine banks. (See a picture below)
  • lack of engine power specifically in the lower rpm’s. It's like nothing bites until I hit really high rpms and then it just surges. It's not normal and feels bad for the engine.
  • massive lag/surge in acceleration.
  • whining/whistling noise that changes with the rpms’ that wasn’t there before this problem. (Sounds like a vacuum leak or lack of oil pressure or something).
  • rpms are “floating” between the gears much more. my car should be shifting more dynamically.
  • Unusual engine-drag when letting off the accelerator
  • Loud rattling upon 40-50% of startups. If the valve cover was broken or damaged again somehow would that make a rattle?
Amazingly all symptoms in problem 2 were fixed and vanished after the dealership did a recent repair on May 5 (see pic below). So, whatever the dealership did to seal the engine again seemed to work for a couple weeks but it's back to all the problems again and it's seeping oil or fluid again (see pic below).
I personally suspect problem 1something is pulling things apart and/or something else like a problem with the fuel pumps, turbo, motor/trans mounts, differentials, cv joint, axle, or something else.
This is what the dealership recently did to address the seeping oil/fluid around the engine and it legitimately completely fixed all the lag/surge/hesitation and poor driving performance issues I listed with the cluster 2 of problems.

Below is a picture of what the fluid seepage looks like. It's wet around the fuel injector seal areas on both engine banks:

can anyone help me figure this one out?
Thanks

You say good tires, but are they the same make, model, wear the same on each wheel (try important with Touareg), and if you switch tires from one side to the other does the pull switch? Also tires can look great but have interior damage that makes the vehicle they are on drive terrible.

Nope it's not the tires. Same make, model, regularly changed every 30k kms. They are fine.
