hi!

I may have found a good deal on 17" wheels and winter tires for my 2004 Touareg V8 with air suspension.

I currrently have 19" with TPMS but I would not mind having 17" for the winter.

Can I do that? Is there any issue with brakes or anything else?

thanks

Christian

If they are the OEM 17" wheels, you're fine for sure. I could see there being some clearance issues with certain aftermarket wheels though, so be sure that if they're aftermarket they are made to fit a Touareg or Cayenne. The V8 has the same brakes as the V6, which comes standard with the 17's. The V10 needs 18" or larger wheels due to its larger brakes.

If you swap these out, your TPMS is going to raise hell with you every time you turn the ignition. There is no way to turn the TPMS off, either. I am not technical enough to guide you, but you will need compatible TPMS sensors on each new wheel.
