Would be possible to change the front headlamps, tail lights, side mirrors, bumper, grill and the metal parts on the sides to a reasonable price? 3-4k $.

Short answer, I doubt it. The headlamps are adaptive in that they move with the steering wheel and more then likely have a different module to run them that your 03 does not have. Not to mention the fact you would have to change the bumper cover, grill, and fenders. I think it would be seriously cost prohibative unless you got money to throw at it. The only thing I think is identical on the T2 to the 03 is the hood. The mirrors even fold in differently then the ones on your 03. For 3-4K, I think you are looking at way more then that.

However, it would not surprise me if someone developed the '08 "chrome look" front bumper that would work with the existing lights and structure. Obviously , it would not be exact, but it could be very close. I see a lot of this swapping around on the MkV and MkIV Jetta / Golf cars.
