Any owner of '14 Sport w/o Nav.

I am beginning a class action against VW. All marketing material as well as websites convey that there is a compass on the '14 Sport w/o nav. THERE IS NOT! I am an owner and contacted VW "customer care". I was appalled by their response and, quite frankly, how nasty they were. THEY MESSED WITH THE WRONG PERSON!!!!!

My company puts together individuals and companies for law firms who specialize in class action litigation. I have to exclude myself as it would be a conflict of including myself in the class. BUT I CAN GET EITHER A PAYMENT TO YOU OR YOUR VEHICLE RETROFITTED AT ZERO COST TO YOU.

Please send me a PM and I will include you...........

Spam attack reported.

Do you have link(s) to official VW materials for the 2014 model saying there's a compass? I just looked at VW's online brochure for the '14 and don't see compass mentioned. Non-VW sites don't count since they're frequently inaccurate in the specs they publish.

OMG please do not post your comments in 3 different sections! It junks up the board.

plus its spam!!!!!!
I deleted the other two. As long as he limits this to one thread only will let it continue. But it doesn't change my feelings towards this type of legal BS where only the lawyers are the ones who make any money. The only compensation VW owners will gets is a $2.00 coupon off their next overpriced oil change.

And what, exactly, does anyone ever do with a compass in the car anyway?

What would have been much better was if the OP had had an T1 or a T2 and suffered valve chest and drive [prop] shaft failure.

They were two big number items that might have been worth chasing down.

Oh, and how about getting stuck into the T3 SWS problem.

But suing for a missing compass? Pathetic.

Wow...are you way off base!!!! The attorney's in this case are my clients and are doing this for me pro bono that is why I had to exclude myself. Retrofitting will cost VW $850/vehicle.

For reference, I did the Porsche Cayenne coolant pipe class......$1800/vehicle.

You know that's twice you have criticized me and displayed a complete lack of knowledge and initiative.

Instead of criticizing, look at it for what it is....you now have a resourse for doing something about these problems instead of just bitching about them. I'm pissed and I have the ability to do something about it...you've done what exactly?

Give me the info on you previous issues and I'll see what I can do about it for you.

My experience with "VW's customer care" was so horrendous that I will do what it takes to show them that they can't get away with treating the owners of $50 K vehicles like garbage.

If you go to Settings menu, there are no options for Compass and Zone?

There was a successful class action suit against VW a few years ago over their false claim of "Hands-Free Bluetooth". The BT functionality was very limited, had to upgrade the BT module to get full functionality. Which I did at a cost of about $275. As a member of the class I eventually got that $275 refunded.

Wow, you really are a cynical jerk...did you check when I joined? Last month! If you can break away from you criticism, cynicism and bitching for a moment and do what I asked....make me aware...unlike you, I'll actually do something about it.

while I do respect the fact that you feel you are doing the right thing, I believe most of us here will agree that this is pretty petty and probably the reason we don't get any of the cool features that the EURO vw's get. So with all due respect, I don't think your going to get much support here with your vw hate.

Very fair Sam. Anyone who is interested just PM me. PM me with future probs as well and I actually will do something.

Phoenix, I'm sure you know what happens to lemmings....................

For the OP: Can you address this question? The literature PDF on VW's website is here: http://www.vw.com/content/dam/vwcom/brochures/2014models/VW_MY14_Touareg_2ndPR_Brochure_Digital.pdf

Using the search function on that PDF doesn't find any results for; compass. Yet it does find other search terms such as iPod.

As did we for our 2010 TDI Sportwagon. We didn't even ask or know about it. Dealer upgraded the BT at a regularly scheduled service and it worked nicely thereafter.

As for class actions, I think a suit based on VW continuing to sell a vehicle with a known problem for which no root case or cure has been established would be a much more worthy effort.

SWS was certainly not listed on my window sticker ;-0

I'll try again. In the Settings menu, are there options for Compass and Zone? In a Nav-equipped Treg the Settings menu is found under the CAR hard button. Presumably non-Nav models have that too.

The '14 US Owners Manual does discuss a compass for non-Nav cars on page 22.
