Why not just order directly from Dectane? I have done that twice with no issues.

And all of those go back to the shady Romanians.

UPDATE: Ok, I think I found it. www.dectane.de. And my answer is because they don't have any in stock. IIRC I tried a few places.

I can see now where I was getting confused.
For some reason I thought dectane.de and dectane-tuning were the same place. So I originally placed my order with dectane-tuning. And I ended up with the shady Romanians.

Even though they show no stock, I placed my order with dectane.de anyways. I don't mind waiting for a bit to get it.

Quick update;

I ordered a set last fall.
They arrived over the winter, but the car was hibernating by then.

Took the car out a couple of days ago.
I installed the lights this afternoon.

Beautiful!

No issues , install was a breeze.
I'm a happy camper.

They used to have them on eBay for $300 usd then $100 shipping but now they're only available in their site and total now is like $450. Just too expensive. Ugh

I'm interested to see red smoke installed before spending that much if I'm not certain I would like it. If you get time it would be greatly appreciated.

At first I thought they sent me the wrong ones because they looked very dark side by side the oems, but now I'm completely happy with them.
I really like how they light up at night.

I have these on my 08 t2, my car is the Galapagos grey color. When I ordered from Dectane I wanted the smoked lenses but I wanted the light bars that look grey when they are not lit, apparently they stopped making that kind in 2012. So I got the smoked lenses and the light bars that are red when not lit up, I like them especially when lit. I did have an issue when I went to get my inspection here in Houston at a local Firestone shop, they said they could not inspect the car with smoked lenses, I looked further at the law and that is not true at all, there is a regulation as to being able to see the brake lights from a mile away or some nonsense. So I ended up taking to a different small auto shop and they inspected and passed no issues at all.

 

So do you have the same as OP.? I'm curious if you can provide a picture of them with that color paint. Are you saying the don't produce the non smoked anymore or they just stopped producing the lightly smoke and only make the dark ones?
