2.0 ton 30+ year old craftsman works for me no problem

 

The car weighs 2.5 tons and presumably you are only lifting one corner at a time . . .

 

Yes, all are true. Even if you lift the front axle (presumably the heavier end) you are only lifting app half the weight or 1.2 tons, aka app 2400 #'s

 

A bottle jack works much much better than a trolley jack.
