I just bought a used 2004 V8 Touareg (black with cricket leather). It does not have the nav system. I noticed on my center console, where the adjustable suspension knob would be, there is just the hole in the console with a "0"/"1" toggle switch at the bottom. Anyone know what this switch is for? Should there be a piece of dummy trim covering this hole? Thanks.

The switch is NOT factory VW.

Sounds like the previous owner decided to put a switch there for something ... who knows what.

I don't know if my other reply went through. Do you know if the cars that did not have the ride height adjustment feature had a dummy cover for that hole?

Also, it appears that it sits just a little bit squat in the rear - not bad, just a bit. Is this the normal stance?

thanks for all the input everyone. I swear that rocker switch (not a toggle) is factory. the plastic around the edge is beveled and raised and part of the chrome trimmed outer edge. I would post a pic if I knew how.

No cover.. just a hole... might as well put it to good use I thought
what a great idea!! how did you mount that? where did you get the parts?
OEM ipod nano dock... painted black.. Denison Dice adaptor for Ipod integration. Dremmeled out the bottom of the "hole" and glued the dock to it and presto chango... custom ipod docking station!
