Nick,

Actually I would be leary of option 3. I have option #2 in your list installed for about 2 years now and while it costs more, the stock button module with the volume buttons to control the parrot do not work as well as you would think. In fact I recall responding to another poster, I think over at VWVortex that was having no luck with the volume buttons at all.

IMHO I would not get the parrot CK3000 setup without the new button module, unless you plan to install the actual parrot control module as spock has done. Both the CK3000 and 3100 come with a control module, the 3100 adds caller ID. I believe the kit that 1stvwparts sells may not include it as it is intended to be a complete hidden installation, but I may be wrong.

I also can confirm no display information, but I have voice dialing on my MS smartphone and it announces the caller or number if I do not have the number in my phonebook. It works well enough for me and I too prefer the clean integrated look over the addition of a module on the dash.

To each his own is what it boils down to on this one, but remember Spock made a really good point and that is if you go with the CK3100 you will get the Caller ID display and that is something worth seriously mulling over if it is important to you.

1stvwparts has the European rSAP module. This module is like having an in car cellphone. It has a dedicated GSM antenna. rSAP is remote sim access protocol. This bluetooth kit is only intended for GSM phones that support rSAP. Not all GSM phones support it. This isn't intended for Verizon, Sprint, and any CDMA providers. It might work on those phones if the module supports HFP. It does offer a full car cell phone experience. Not to mention it supports text messaging. It even supports the RNS-510 mute button to access to the phone menu. Part number for this is 5N0 035 730 A. It's made by Nokia. It's very, very, expensive.

Brace your self for the price. $821.67 is the price for it. Thats the discounted price. The actual retail price for it is $993.02 minus the GSM antenna, wiring and VCDS.

Wow...no way I'm paying a grand for a phone/phone capability. I ordered up a CK3100 and the Parrot Canbus module, this way I get call display + steering wheel controls for less than 200 bucks :)

US market Touareg's are now getting the 9W3 option. 9W3 is the factory code for the Skoda bluetooth module. Part number for that is 1Z0 035 729 A. The 09's are starting to trickle in with this unit but the 2010's will have it standard.
