Waiting in the car for my wife at the mall- I was reading the manual for my 2014 TDI LUX and it said that one could open and close all windows from outside...had something to do with holding the back of the drivers door handle to open andsomethingorother to close. Bottom line- I tried what I thought it said and no luck. The manual is in the car- next time I'm out there I'll find the page number- meantime, anyone else see this? try it? work? disabled for North America cause we're being protected from ourselves by mommy-Govt?

Try putting the key in the drivers door lock, turn and hold. one direction will open all widows the other will close all windows.

You will find the instructions for this in the VW Touareg Instruction Manual. Mind you, I found some subjects extremely difficult to find, but I can help you out here.
Electric Windows - Functions P.81 in the MY15 manual.
* Switch on the ignition
* Press the "Car" infotainment button
* Touch the "Settings" function button
* Select "Vehicle Key" from the list
* Touch the "tick" Front Windows and Rear Windows.
Now press and hold the unlock button on your key fob to lower the windows or press and hold the lock button on the key fob to raise the windows. You can also check the sunroof to activate its opening and closing.
Trust this helps.
Cheers.

Thanks- I'll try tomorrow...I don't recall a windows option though...it'll be interesting to see if the manuals are different in this.

nope- no window function in menu. I'm thinking that operation isn't possible in North America...at least now. My 2003 A6 could do it(with the key as posted above) and- as I said my manual has directions but the car doesn't seem to realize that! Anyone have contrary experience IN USA? (2014 Lux TDI)

The window function controlled by remote can be enabled with VCDS like most VW/Audis in the US. I did this on my 2011 TDI. No reason why this can't be standard or enabled in a menu...

FYI there is NO door key lock on the T3- NA Touareg. The only way in is using the remote button on the key FOB.

Or in an emergency, using the plastic key hidden in the remote fob and prying off the covering on the door handle to expose the key slot for the emergency key.

I have tried the key fob remote using several different combinations of button pushing to no avail, cannot lower all windows.

I did this on my 2011 TDI as well. The down feature is in my menu, but used my Vag-Com for rolling them up.

This and a few other features described in the manual are not functional in North America. On my 2010 Treg it worked - my 2004 Jetta also but not my 2014 Treg!

These omissions were the primary reason I purchased a Ross-Tech VCDS. Now I have the "convenience opening" feature in the setup menu. The tailgate can be opened electrically when a trailer is connected. The gear number is displayed in the instrument panel.......

I had this issue too on my 2012 Comfortline TDI. I had to ask the dealership to enable the function in the "car" menu (can also be enabled using a VAGCOM). However, enabling it on my truck only worked for the driver's door window. Months later the dealer ended up replacing a control module to get it to work 100%. I now have it set to open or close all windows, including the sunroof, using the remote/key fob.

I'm sure you can get it working too... Hopefully it will be sorted out before your warranty expires.

As has been fully discussed in other threads here, my CDN NA 2012 TDi started off fully functioning, and after a dealer firmware upgrade, I noticed most of the remote window functions gone. Lots of trying by the dealer, including having my treg talk all night to the computers in the fatherland, and they found it was a fault in the convenience module. They replaced the module, and it all works perfectly now, fob, handle and emergency key opening and closing.

The Touareg 7P series has a phenomenally sensitive anti-crush system in its window, and hatch closing function. It was one of the first safety systems I thoroughly checked when I got the car, and I check it fully at least every six months. With this level of European designed safety function, what's the issue? I confidently use the remote close/open function routinely when my dog is in the car (and she's always with me). Nothing like an Am-Staff to add to vehicle security... ;-) (sorry, but she's not the old bull lurcher on my avitar, she's gone over the rainbow bridge)

What the NA 2014 TDI will do is roll down all windows and flip open the roof vent if standing outside you open the front door and hold down just the drivers window button.

FYI..I have an option to set this up on my 2011 T3 Australian model..i.e. All windows and sunroof or all windows or only front windows.

Hi,
I believe this feature only came into being in the 2011 model.
I know my previous 2009 did not have this feature. So cool too.
Cheers.

AlienTech makes controllers that should allow you to do it on older Touaregs. Don't quote me though. I know they support Passat and Jetta chassis - I expect it works for the Touareg too. Check them out and see what's available.
