The 2006 V10 shows Brake Membrane Position Sensor mounted on the brake booster,G420,a brake light switch in the cabin working off the brake pedal lever and on the T2 a brake position sensor G201 and a time allowance of 2 hours to R&R,Marty

My down hill assist light and ABS light has come up the last few days but today at the light when i went to take off my front drivers side wheel locked up and it felt like it was going to snap off. It clunked a couple of times and drove it straight home. The sound it made was quite frightening.

Brake Fault

I am getting a brake fault Stop sign with a sold abs and esp light took it to the dealer who tells me I need a new ABS control module ($1900 according to them) I honestly don't trust the dealer for 2 reasons... 1 they have gotten horrible reviews and 2 according to everything I have read an ABS module failure would trip an OBDII code on a reader set up to handle brake codes... the REG drives fine brakes fine etc. My mechanic friend believes it is a wheel speed sensor but before I go to the effort of changing them I was wondering if someone in Chicago has a vag com cause even though I paid the dealer $70 to read the codes when I asked for a printout they refused. Anyone have any ideas?

That dealer sucks and in your shoes I'd very happily add to their reviews!

If it turns out to be the worst case scenario, you can get the ABS control module repaired and for a lot less than $1900.

Are there other problems like no speed odometer, no suspension adjustment running gear or exhaust workshop?

Mine comes on after very wet driving then clears and the dif lights come on implausable reading. Mines a wire thats faulty but there are so many.
