Highs, Lows and Fog lights on at the same time.

 

My favorite on a dark night all alone on the road driving (like at 2am).

 

Alas, seems no longer feasible on the T2s....

If you are asking why it can't be done on the T2 is because they have different headlights then the T1's did and we don't have the middle halogen passing high beam. So therefore 6 light salute is not possible at all.

 

Will 6light salute work with halogen lows or only with xenon setup

 

I had it done on my 07 V6 with halogens. Love it!

 

Should work on your 06

What are "passing" lights?

 

To late to edit my last post but after more reading I found out the passing lights are the inner bulbs.

The strange thing is that on my Touareg, the inner bulbs and outer bulbs both come on when the turn signal stick is pushed forward or pulled back. The fog lights are extinguished when this happens.

Is this normal?

 

Normal on yours because apparently you don't have Xenons and the inner bulbs are your high beams. Fogs normally only run with low beams anyhow.

 

Finally got time to do the 6 light salute. Total accomplishment!!! Only thing is I wanted the DRL in the MFI also. The DRL light on the dash does not come on now but the lights are on.

 

@aliceapr, the same thing happened to my car when I enabled 6 light salute and tried to disable DRL.

 

That is because when you disable the DRL's and have the option in the MFI they are not really DRL's anymore when you select the option. I noticed this on my 04 when I did it and selected the option in MFI. They turn on all the lights reguardless of where the light switch was. I tended to run my switch in auto though, so idk if that was why as well. I never figured it out and never really gave it much thought since I never selected the option in the MFI.

 

That is the thing I don't get the option of the DRL in my MFI. I dropped the code 2 points for the six light salute should I also have dropped it an additional 1 point for the DRL option in my MFI?

 

Yes, drop it a total of 3 points to have both options.

Not true about not having passing lights. They all have them... Using the xenon bulbs.

 

I would like this six light salute on my Treg whould any body like to help me with this I am clue less about where to even start

 

So I just updated to 11.11.2 and there is now the option to have the Fogs active with the Highbeams on....finally the T3 gets the 6-light salute!

No, but I am sure you will be soon, please report back with your findings! I always thought fogs were only meant to come on with low beam and is actually a law in some places.

 

That is true in Europe and I remember having to reverse all my mods before I took my cars down to the Police for their silly check ups.

But luckily we don't live in such places. When I download 11.2, I'll see if I have that option.

Just got my VAG-com yesterday! As soon as I get my egg back Im planning on doing the 6 light salute, lowering and blinker mods.

The seat belt chime, drl off and nav acceptance mod was done by the PO.

 

I know this is an old thread but I thought clear info may help someone. I got the six light salute to work on my 04 Touareg V8, air suspension with xenon headlights. I can have just the xenon bulbs with headlights on dim. Then brights plus the halogen bulbs and the fog lights can be turned on or off. The process is as follows.

1) start VAG-COM

2) click: “select control module” button

3) Select 09 Cntrl. Elect.

4) click: RECODE 07 (Recode)

5) In the Software Coding box there should be a number (mine was) 0105694.

I had previously subtracted 1 to turn off day running lights, originally 0105695.

Take a pic of this in case you have trouble.

I Subtracted 2 from the existing coding (my new number is 0105692).

6) click: DO IT.

7) click: close controller, go back

8) click: go back

If you have no option on the dash to turn off day running lights you would subtract 3 from your coding number.
