I got the DPF and EGR delete done. I did not know the EGR could be deleted until Les told me that morning.

Performance....deleting everything from the exhaust has turned it into a BEAST. It was already tuned and the delete has taken that to another level. Sport mode is SICK! Boost comes on quicker or say the turbo spools up much faster and it pulls HARD, much harder than before. We read the boost in sport mode when firmly pressing on the accelerator, but not putting it to the floor and the boost got up to 24 psi. I really don't know how good or bad that is, but that is what was read.......I don't know what else to say, but the acceleration/pull/take off is RIDICULOUS now. 3rd gear around 2000-2500 rpms is rocket ship mode.

MPGs......cannot give a definitive gain yet, but with all my playing around I am at 360 miles at a half tank of fuel. That's better than before the delete.

Sound......Definitely louder and the muffler is still on. I want to add a resonator to the exhaust to quiet it down. If I was 18 yrs. old and single I would love it and keep the sound. With a wife and kids, and the Treg is a family wagon I don't think the sound is good for us. The kids sleep, have to turn the radio louder to get over the exhaust sound, do a lot of long trips and the drone of the exhaust will get annoying to me when trying to talk to the wife and kids, etc.
weird. for whatever reason, my browser isn't showing me the links to the your videos. :D

The AdBlue tank is still there and full of fluid. It cannot be removed yet. Supposedly they are working on being able to remove it without fault codes showing up.

The both CATs and the DPF are gone. The muffler is still on the vehicle. The AdBlue emitter is bracketed to the exhust. On the outside of it.

Les is supposed have a resonator designed for me to install Monday.

I will try to take some videos of the exhaust this weekend.

I am sending out my ecu on Monday to Les to have the tune put in and they are sending me a new down pipe for the dpf deletion. I am heading out of town for work on monday for 10 days, so I figured this would be the best time to send it in.

Zagg- Have you noticed any smoke/soot since the delete? any showing on your tail pipes or bumper?

No soot on tail pipe or bumper....as shown in the video, upon hitting the throttle there is no black soot coming out. To me, that is what is really impressive about Malone's tunes. He knows how to tune it just right. I see many Fords and Dodges that are tuned and when those guys lay on it there are plumes of black smoke coming out of their stacks/exhausts.......Not Kosher.

First start in the morning with temps below 40 F you'll white smoke as with any gasser. Once warmed up that goes away.

Excellent news!! Do you do any towing? I'm curious if there is more soot at the tail pipe when the engine is in a higher percentage of torque fuel due to towing.

Please keep us posted!

I hope to perform this mod ASAP this spring.

Hey Everyone,

The DPF delete is still problem free.

Gotta get a new bead on fuel mileage since winter fuel is here.

And I have to bow out for a while. I have to address some life changing things and I have no idea how this going to turn out. I will try to get to your messages when I can. I need time.

Sincerely,

Zagg

Marine ECU?

The 3.0 TDI is being used in the marine environment. I am uncertain as to the use of DEF in that application. If it is not used, maybe the ECU from a marine engine would shortcut the solution for the tuning conundrum...?

2012 TDI Tuned

Just got my 2012 Touareg TDI Tuned by Les at GDM aka Diesel Dubs. Malone stage 2, DPF delete, EGR delete with resonator. Have logged 300 miles since tune. 35 MPG average so far with some right foot fun. Feels like a different vehicle. The biggest difference is not from a start but when your already going 50 mph. You step on gas peddle 3/4 and you look down and your doing 85 mph. Thought exhaust sound would be a problem. Very slight exhaust note when accelerating. At 65 mph, RPM at 1700-1800, no sound difference at all from exhaust.

I guess it's my time to chime in. I had my ECU tuned by Les at Diesel Dubs as well. I had the stage 2+ tune with the DPF/EGR delete. I have not installed the new down pipe yet, because Les was still waiting for some to come in.

I got the tune done around thanksgiving and have logged roughly 600 miles. I am still running with the DPF installed, but have not had any trouble what so ever. I was on the fence when I first got my ECU back from Diesel Dubs, I found that the full throttle take off felt like no change. I was a little confused. I then found where the tune made the most difference. Part Throttle (1/2-3/4), this thing came alive. Pulled super strong, and the top end was very impressive as well. I can't wait to get my down pipe installed.

I have seen a slight increase in fuel mileage, but I have been having too much fun to really see any substantial gains.
