At the title says. I want to put an aftermarket Nav in my Touareg. Who has installed one. I've searched and I can't find anything with Pioneer, etc. I find the Chinese Windows CE powered stuff and I'm not totally impressed with the iGo nav system when there are so much better software out there. I don't have an external amp. Heck I don't even have a CD Changer installed. With the right harness should be plug and play right? What about steering wheel controls? The wife wants to stream pandora from her iphone via bluetooth. I have been looking at the Pioneer AppRadio 3 as it works with the iphone5 as well as the Parrot Asteroid unit. It runs android and I can just side load android apps.

Pioneer radio maybe a better choose if you do not mind the price and the facade.
If you install Pioneer radio, you will also need a speical dash kit for Treg. Not the same as OEM unit.
Pioneer radio is procuded in China, not in Japan. So some Chinese units can compare favourably with Pioneer units. iGo maps support TTS, 3D functions, it running slowly on some old units comes with 600MHZ CPU. But it can work quickly on some units with 1GHZ CPU.
I am a aftermarket dealer in HK, I had sold lots of our latest product to clubtouareg members:
volkswagen touareg autoradio gps dvd navigation system
Here is some reviews:

I will try my best to help you no matter you choose our units or others'.

Allen, does the 991-C042 feature iGo 8 or Primo? Your website states Primo is whats loaded, but iGo 8 is whats actually shown. I like Primo much better. It looks much cleaner and doesn't show the same nav interface that has been around for 10 years or more. I used iGo on a pocket PC back in 2004 sometime. I'm interested in your products. But the Nav isn't winning me over. All else seems pretty polished. Also, I understand I can change the volume with no other programing on the vehicle. But what about track advance? I assume this conflicts? Any way around this?

Primo is also called iGO 9.
We usually preload iGO 8 on some units with only 600MHZ cpu.
But we preload Primo on 991-C042 because 991-C042 has 1GHZ cpu, Primo can run rapidly on it. So the navigation software is not a problem.
I think our unit can fully support the original steering wheel contorls on your vehicle becase we only receive complains about the steering wheel controls on Treg before 2006. As we known Treg before 2006 use 1.5 version CANBUS, Treg after 2006 use 2.0 version CANBUS. So that will not be a problem on 2008 Treg.

Hi Allen, your customer support is good and I have a small request for you.
We have lost a us citizen in Hong Kong. Could you please locate and return Edward Snowden via ups in a small box.
What a stupid comment...

If you have something worth sharing that will help others on this forum then go ahead and type it so we can all gain something from it, otherwise shut up and keep your idiot comments to yourself.

Lets relax a little bit, no need to get so aggressive lol.....i've been there and done that and on a forum its not worth your time and it makes you look bad. I must be missing something because i have no idea who edward snowden is but your over-reacting just a little.....just ignore this stuff.

I decided to change my outlook on the forum. Im here for help on my car and to help when i can, I will no longer waste time on people who quite frankly rub me the wrong way.....i don't know his reasons for saying what he said so i will not comment on it but i think name calling is just inappropriate and a big waste of YOUR time. Come here to de-stress! not to get stressed lol!

+1 !

While I completely agree with keeping the tone here civil and relaxing, good on you for speaking up loudly against a really ignorant and offensive comment. Allen Wong has been a huge help on this forum, not just with his own sales but with helpful advice about all things audio related, as indicated in his posts above. I am a happy customer and certainly recommend him. I'm sure the Snowden comment was intended as humour, but came off as crass and disrespectful and I hope the poster would apologize and get this thread back on track where it belongs.
