hi, what size rimes do you have on your touareg? for off roading best size is 17'' or 18'', porsonally me i would go with 18 as you have more tire choice . also are you going to buy wheels and tires and have off road setup or you are going to use them for every day driving? i think its better to stick to OEM wheels as they are very good quality as touareg is a very heavy SUV and you need reliable wheels to go off road. specs for the OEM 18'' wheels are 18'' x 8'', bolt pattern is 130X5 center bore is 71.6 mm and wheel offset is 57mm . maximum tire you can fit on these wheels are 285/60/18'' and you need 5mm spacer in front. if you do not want huge tires but good size for off road you can go with 265/60/18 and you will not need any modifications at all if you will have any questions post then here. and one more advice before you will start a new thread you can use search function and find huge amount of info about most things you will need regarding your touareg kind regards, Nikoloz

 

I have the exact size and same nitto tire model. I would say there is a bit of rubbing with 5 passenger on board, but very tolerable.

I have 255/55x18 Grabber AT2's on my V10 T1 with karthoum wheels no rubbing and some guys have bigger sizes without problems.

I would consider 17" rims for off road

 

Drifter - 255/55R18's will be no problem. I ran 265/60R18's for around 50K klms with no size problems. Suggest 255/55 or 255/60 in 18's will be fine.
Bigger ain't necessarily better - especially with only 6 cyl. Dub

 

18 No Problem

I use the 18" Manhattan wheels for winter tires on my 2010 TDI and have zero problems with clearance and loads of traction in deep snow.
