Alex. Alignment was way out. Guy said good to have had it checked. Took less
than an hour. You mentioned lighter steering before. Maybe that's it.
Making a wheel carpet myself. Good to test my welding skills again. No alloy here though. Just black steel then paint to cover daggy bits.

Nope. Manufactured in South Africa under the Cobra suspensions brand name. These guys have a long history when it comes to coils and leaf manufacturing and are busy to develop off road suspensions for all major brands. I had their coils on my Amarok and were impressed. Apparently you can use their coils with standard shocks as well. I am waiting for the specs on the coils. Will keep you updated.

Ok. Latest news on those coils. They are available . Offers a 40 mm lift and additional 600 kg load capacity. In South Africa they retail at R 3192.00 inc VAT for a set . Awaiting technical specs on them.
Wow, the price seems really good, around AUD300.
I wonder if there is a way to compare these against OEM springs?

Even in SA thats a good price. I dont know what duties will be. The manufacturer allready exports to AUS . Maybe they have a distributor there allready. Trying to find out.

I am planning to buy a Treg in a couple of months. Wanted the V10 but the V6 seems the better/safer bet. Your opinion?

The R price should even be less as VAT probably isn't applicable on export orders, in AU there is no Gov. charges provided the imported item incl. shipping is under $1000 (if more then a 10%GST is added, generally import duties no longer applicable).
Over the years in this forum the impression I have is that the general consensus on buying a used V10 seems to be "don't" unless you have very deep pockets.
Sure they are fun-to-drive rocket ships but come at a high price when things go wrong, also they appear not to be balanced as well as the V6 (due to the additional weight of the V10 engine) so don't handle as well.
Personally I am very happy with the V6 TDi, more than enough power for my needs, tow well with plenty of torque, does everything I need to do. Not cheap to maintain but a lot cheaper than the V10, but (to a degree) I'm biased!
