Somebody can please explain me how to read a T-Reg VIN?

Which characters can be used for identyfying the exact production date of a T-Reg? Or that's impossible?

For exaple let's take
WVGZZZ7LZ6DO57611
W = Europe
V = Volkswagen
7L = Touareg
D = Bratislava
O57611 = Serial #

Zetas, as I know, have no meaning.. And what about the other letters?

Ah, but the "zetas" do have meaning:

W = Country of origin = Germany
V = Manufacturer = Volkswagen
G = Vehicle type = SUV
Z = Series (e.g. M = Touareg 4dr V8 w/ Air Suspension)
Z = Engine (e.g. M = 4.2L 8cyl (AXQ))
Z = Restraint system (e.g. 7 = Dr/Pass A/B Front, Dr/Pass Active, Advanced A/B Front, Side A/B Front, Side Curtain A/B)
7L = Model = Touareg
Z = Check digit
6 = Model Year = 2006
D = Assembly Plant = Bratislava
O57611 = Serial number

It is true that the date of manufacture cannot be determined from the VIN, but the month and year of manufacture should be on a sticker on the driver's door frame.

HTH

Your service department can run your VIN and get the exactly production date.
