I remember there was a thread someplace that we could put a vin in and get all the info on a vehicle. Wondering if any members remember where I could find this ?
You got it. I actually asked the wrong question to start. I think when I purchased the R50 I used the PR decoder and after 4 years had forgotten exactly what I'd used. Anyway on the straight and narrow now.I think I understand what your after, you want to know the options but don't have the 3 digit codes which you will get and then use that link to find the options, correct?
Thanks for the offer, and strange as it may seem I do actually have some Russian speaking friends. I have solved the issue by asking the dealers for the PR codes, there will be a few as I search for the right vehicle, so sending these off to you will be a pain. Appreciate your kind offer though. What positions are most important for you, I mean what particular niceties your are looking for? PM your VIN and I will check. Because breakdown is rather extended, I have no time to translate entire list. Or if you know somebody who will translate I will send you full text in Russian.
Go to Erwin with the VIN and it will tell you allThe VIN has manufacturer, Manufacturing location, chassis code, build year, serial number, but it does not have option codes that are translatable - you'll need access to the VW database for that.
Example: I can tell you that you have a 2013 VW Touareg made in Wolfsburg, but i can't tell you what color or if you have navi, 18" wheels etc.
LOL all good, good luck with the search, can't beleive your giving up the R50 (wish it was here) but the new tregs especially with the options you get there is deffinitely a HUGE step up!!You got it. I'll get the PR codes for the vehicles I'm looking at , trouble is you see a lot of vehicles advertised that look the same but some have big differences in options.
Your last perception is incorrect. Besides the info you mentioned (navi, colour, etc.) in fact you may even learn had the previous owner ordered cabin carpets when composing trim package with dealer or not.The VIN has manufacturer, Manufacturing location, chassis code, build year, serial number, but it does not have option codes that are translatable - you'll need access to the VW database for that.

Wow, that is darn specific, COOLYour last perception is incorrect. Besides the info you mentioned (navi, colour, etc.) in fact you may even learn had the previous owner ordered cabin carpets when composing trim package with dealer or not.
BailsThese are the PR codes for the Vehicle I am looking at.
I thought in Australia you guys got the 4Xmotion and options for locks and low range? Honestly if I had the R50 and could afford maintenance and all that crap, I would never get rid of it, I would keep it and run it into the ground or keep it on the side and just have it as a collector car, I don't think they will ever have anything close to it againThanks Drag. In Brisbane at the moment and actually had my first sit in an R-Line. Really a lot missing when I consider the R50, no dual Battery system , no low range , no flares . Funny the R-Line just doesn't seem to get to me as much as the R50 does. I did have a chance to sit in the new RR Sport. This looks a really interesting car and in the V6 SDV SE is better value than the R-Line in my Opinion. Really like the RR Sport looks and innovative design. The car runs for 0-100 in 7.2 which is not to bad .4 slower than the R50. I think I need more time to research this , perhaps I will wait a little longer before getting the next car.
This guy is an idiot and has NO clue what the hell he's even doing.......what a fail.
HOLY CRAP! I didn't even realize it was an R-Line or that it had 21's LMAO WOW......JUST WOW.....I feel bad for that tregWell he may be but one thing I didn't like was how the body started to get pulled off from lack of clearance. The lack of locking centre dif's and the use of locking wheels by brake application also doesn't seem to work as well as traditional 4WD systems. No doubt a lot of the issue is the 21 inch road biased tires. My biggest concern would be thinking the R-Line will go far off road.
He is probably in the nautical industry carrying a "W" rated "anchor"Must be a Wayne Carr driving that one! Have a look at the other videos from the same vehicle, trying to go off road on 21" wheels and road tyres, no wonder he can't get anywhere.
I think in this circumstance the 21 inch road tyres did him no favors all 4 wheels are spinning without tractionWell he may be but one thing I didn't like was how the body started to get pulled off from lack of clearance. He must be one of those people who thinks having snow tires or AWD gives them the ability/right to continue going the speed limit or FASTER! when the road conditions are awful and snowy!I think in this circumstance the 21 inch road tyres did him no favors all 4 wheels are spinning without traction
