Just had the brake pads/rotors done on all four corners, using Alrettas kit on my 09 TDI. First brake job ever for the vehicle at 100000kms. Front caliper on left was seized and couldn't be fixed. My (usually trusted) independent mechanic did the job and ordered a new caliper. The caliper part cost was $576! Seems crazy, how badly did I get ripped off (for future reference )-: )

How does a caliper get seized?

Trying to enter Australia whilst eating an apple and smoking weed in the Customs hall!

Price seems about right, with a standard markup. I've got the big Brembo 350mm set up on my V10, but calipers for it are in the high 5s. Your brakes are still pretty beefy, so seems reasonable to me.

Sorry Nooby bit slow on the uptake this morning not sure what you mean?
There's a reality TV programme over here on the Australian Border Force and they're always seizing stuff from inbound passengers, especially food!

Makes me laugh how many oriental visitors arrive in your country with their cases stuffed full of grub that they then claim they didn't know they could not import!

Makes me laugh even more when their command of the English language disappears along, in some cases, with their own once the appointed interpreter arrives!!
