Guys comon, lets settle down please. I personally don't like seeing conflict. Healthy debate is nice...this isn't healthy and not much of a debate the rest of us can follow.

You're both good guys so lets just stop. please? Lots of respect to both of you, but you're both out of your usual intellectual and witty character with this thread.

Make me a favour, do not associate your private opinion with entire community beliefs, Russian hater. I didn't know you are a CT moderator to point me out what to do. The only thing I can promise you is to ignore your :censored: in the future.
Russian hater? I don't hate Russians, I just don't like YOU and YOUR kind, the kind with superiority complex be it Russian, American or anybody else. This forum is for car enthusiasts, remember that if you gonna post again.

Was that a dream nooby? :)
No. All very real and there was other even more crazy stuff too! Un-nerving at the time, but a source of good stories to tell now.

First the west was wild, now the east.. everything goes in circles.. :)
And THAT is EXACTLY what I used to say to people about the FSU!

I loved going there - Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan - it was all so unpredictable.

Met some really nice folk and the crazy ones too - drunk, sober, in-between - you name it!

-40C to +40C and wind and icestorms which I'd never experienced before

Crap food, fantastic food but, always, oodles of vodka! [Tricky when you don't drink!]

Dreadful hotels - 10 dollars for 3 rooms for a night in one place in deepest Ukraine and you had a choice between a room with no glass in the windows or a room with no windows and the hot water was only on in the bathrooms from 0200 to 0300. No, we didn't stay long enough to find out why!

Modern "western" hotels came later though having a shower in Kiev one morning in a beautiful German supplied bathroom and finding the contents of the hotel's lavatories coming up through the plughole wasn't very nice!!

It was incredibly frustrating trying to do any business there as the first thing you had to do was find out who to bribe and that often started with bribing someone to tell you who to bribe!

In Kazakhstan, the president's secretary controlled the bookings to the best hotel in the then capital, Almaty. The plane landed at 0530, at 0545 I'd be first [$20] in the line for my visa [$50] as I discovered a "short cut" through customs [another $20] and at 0900 I used to be on his doorstep to sort [$50] my HOTAC for the visit!

Crazy places. Crazy times. Lots of fun.

Ah, I see you've joined the North-South Club where all the Southerners all have problems getting rid of Scottish notes!!

Just like that.

*Sorry for my poor English, almost nonexistent. My only excuse is that English is not my mother tongue and sometimes I notice myself I've made an error but it's too late to revise anything.

Doesn't Ëťbribing systemËť works in whole world?

What?

I hadn't noticed any problems with your command of the English language!

We English take the pi$$ out of anyone from Essex [an English county near London where the girls are just sooooooooooo . . . . . well, Essex!], the Welsh, the Scots and the Irish, and when we're bored with that, we start on the French, and work our way around the world!!

I disagree with you nooby.. There is just a few of honorable persons in the world left..
Altough I wish there were more..

Touareg MNE, when you say "persons," are you referring to citizens of given countries, or governments? On the surface, one may think in the perfect world, a democratically elected government should image and represent the people. Sadly, this doesn't seem to be the case in many countries now. I in fact don't even put blame on the governments as much as the fact, most people now and days are too ignorant, arrogant, and too busy with their daily schedule to really care. Ignorance is bliss.

The European Union is a case in point. They are about to train and release a group called the "Troll Patrol", to literally infiltrate forums, Facebook, Twitter, etc, to counter against ANY PEOPLE, who dare write against why the European Union should be one entity, one political union, with one flag, one anthem, without the full consent of their citizens. If one doesn't believe me, just Google it up, and it's there. I do believe it was just announced the last two weeks. The line drawing government and its citizens seems to be growing further apart, and on that Troll Patrol thing, it scares the living daylights out of me, and I don't even live there!!!

I ask because although I have been quite critical in the past of certain governments foreign policies, I do love their citizens! I might be critical of the government in power in a certain country, but my closest friends are citizens of that given country or countries.

Of course, there are those few who immediately get offended when you criticize their government(and not their people), and they go into automatic tantrum :anger: mode.

Kind of like some of the T3 crowd on here :D ( I said some not all!!), who I have written in the past, are one cranky bunch.

Including goverments, peoples, citizens anyone.. And tell me about the goverments, we have here one bunch of peoples running the whole system for over 23 years. One guy does it all, sold everything he could and left the citizens in a very big debt.. Now we have taxes on everything we own. And by taxes I don't mean regular ones, but extra ones which where invented to save the budget of our country. We have a 50% debt of the GDP.

And the funny thing is that, these citizens again choosed him and he is now again our prime minister. How you wonder, how could anyone choose a man who brought our country in debts?
Well its because he bribes citizens, gives them money, apartments on the check of the country, promises them jobs etc.. And he has been doing that for 20 years.

He is running a neo-liberal economy here, which means sell everything, and privatize just to get the money for your own pocket..not for citizens..

And yes,as for the European Union... We are about to enter the union.. If u ask me its ok, but not with our market, small and undeveloped, unformed.. Small companies will disappear..

The example of your government bribing citizens in your country Montenegro(assuming what you write is true for the sake of this post), is no different than governments depending and sucking up to large corporations in order to receive millions of dollars, to fund their elections and win, leaving the smaller parties with valid and honest agendas, out in the dust.

The Greeks invented Democracy, many now are beginning to wonder how and why it is morphing into something else from its original form. Democracy with a twist? I dunno......

The vast majority of politicians are lying little sh!ts whom I'd happily guillotine.

Long live the revolution!!
