Yepper. Just verified with a magnet that it is steel. The front fenders on T3's are also steel and not composite like they were in previous versions, when the hoods were aluminum...
I am even happier that I bought a T2 rather that wait 6 months for a T3. By the way the hood ( bonnets) in Australia are made out of a different material to your US models, ours are actually ALUMINIUM rather than your inferior ALUMINUM ....:p:p:p:p:p:p

Wow that's shocking. All these claims of hi tech weight reduction are revealed for what they are, Decontenting and stripping down of quality. Think of the additional weight savings if they kept the "aluminium" and composites.

I personally like steel better than aluminum or composite which with time will show color differences. And for God's sake its a friggin tank it is suppose to be made out of steel, lol
Not sure why you feel the the aluminum and plastic fenders would be a different color with age. They are painted with the same paint and clear coat as the rest of the vehicle. My 04's hood and fenders still matched the rest of the car when I got rid of it in 09. Not grasping the logic.

My 05's hood and fenders still look beautiful and match everything as well.
