Just thought i would share a dealer experiance.

After five days interstate we arrived home to find my wifes nine month old VW Passat CC had a flat battery.

Called the dealer we bought it from no problem we will tow it in because that just shouldnt happen.

When the tow arrived they said they wouldnt tow it to the dealer of purchase instead the closer dealer Essendon VW.

After 8 hours and no contact we called to see how the car was only to be told that they havnt looked at it as their customers get priority.

My wife stressed the point that we need the car and a courtesy call and the offer of a loan car would have been nice then the line went dead.

The prick hung up on her.

The car is now at Bayford VW,who have given us a loan car and apologised for the other dealer.

I vow i will never set foot in Essendon VW dealership again.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Essedon VW, I have had a few dealings with their spare parts people and they couldn't be more helpful, going beyond my expectations so obviously service and spares are run by different people.

I would have stuck the intelligent charger on it and checked whether I did not leave something on/ajar.
It should have been charged after an hour or 3.

If the problem repeats itself, arrange with dealer to investigate.

I bought my T'reg from Essendon last year and felt that their skill at building a happy relationship with new clients could be improved upon. I go elsewhere now for service and parts.
I had the same feeling when we were looking for our cars thats why we went to a dealer further away. i only live 5 minutes from thier showroom but have bought two VW`s from elsewhere.

Lucky Essendon

Hey folks,

Let me say that if you go back and try Essendon again you might be surprised as of early this year they acquired Andrew from Ballarat VW.

Andrew is awesome has great customer service and is very knowledgable for a service manager. (he is not a mech)

What I found with Andrew is that he always was open to hear your issues or concerns and would do his best to go out of his way to make sure you where looked after. He even helped me work out a cheaper service by buying my oils etc from the parts department first then giving them to the service area to work on the car (this happened a week or two before service of course).

I have an old Treg 2004 and everytime I brought it in for a service he would organise my ride to work and pick up and when I got the car back it would be spotless I have three kids each like to eat with their fingers and then point or lick the windows.....

I would say give them another go now that Andrew is there you may be surprised with what you get.

Mine goes in to Essendon tomorrow, will let you know. How long has Andrew been with them?

Andrew

I would say less than 2-3 months pretty sure it was not before Xmas.

Would be good to see how he is going. The only issue I had with him was that at times he took on too much which from time to time would decreased his service to you

I went into essendon august last year to look at the new Touareg and found them very unhelpfull and that was at sales point so i wont waste there time or mine there again

As you say Andrew was very helpful for the booking in of the car, an unstressful and pleasant experience.

Based on recent threads that have been closed down and not wishing to bring that down on this one, suffice it to say the service expreience can be summed up with
NOT HAPPY JAN

Try Kevin Dennis VW in Ballarat Road Deer Park. Have had a really good run with these guy's. I like in Sydenham and had a very similar experience with Essendon VW as you did. As such I have never taken anything to them. Their Spare Parts Manager was one of the most helpful people about, and Steve has now moved to Werribee VW.

Mention my name at Deer Park for Service and Werribee for parts and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Probably easier to get to than Epping..

Stuart..

I was talking to the Sales manager (Russel) at Essendon (who I must say is a very pleasant chap) just a few days ago told him of my service department experience and suggested that he should take a look at this thread as well. His response indicated that he was well aware that the service side of the business was letting the side down and told me that they are in the process of recruiting some experienced staff. I hope it was not just sales talk.

Hi All,

I avoid Essendon VW like the plague. KD VW Ballarat Road Deer Park are very good in my opinion.

Regards

Gerald
