Thanks Singh.

I have an update, there was an issue with how the underside front bracket came out, it wasnt perfect and we are redoing them. ("we" is a local fabricator that is taking care of all 12 for me swiftly and professionally so you guys don't have to wait months for me to do them) The good news is they will be done tomorrow, not a huge setback.

So since i had to deliver some bad news i am going to post some teaser photos of the finished plates and hardware ready to go.

Have a look at the grinding mark at the bottom left corner. This is "cheap insurance" to give some more wiggle room on that exhaust rattle i encountered. It is ground down maybe a mm, not enough to be a weak spot, just enough to matter.

All 12 ready to go. Separated by cardboard so even though they wont stay pretty for long, they will at least show up shiny.

Thanks Singh.

Good thing you caught the problem prior to shipping to down under. Thanks for the teaser.

I'm luke warm on the snorkel, the traditional approach I mean with the down pipe guttering and and all. Ugly Treg! I'd be interested in a 'kit' approach and see where it goes after some more forum input.

All the plates for Australia I will pick up with a semi truck so give me a days notice Sam

Best thing you can do is strap them on a pallet.

So when the truck shows up empty pallet on the truck and start stacking them up.
At the end strap them down.
Wrap them in Card board 2-3 at the time so we can still lift them out of the truck
I calculated everything as cheap as possible so no tommy lifts or other fancy stuff will show up Same on my side. Unloading will happen with man power so no more than 2-3 wrapped up together;)
They will probably get to me by Monday so shipping will be the same or next day depending on what time the tuck comes in.
Shipping should take a week to get to australia.

G'day Guys,
Looks like I'm the only taker for a plate in Sydney. I expect my plate will end up in Brisbane with Slurper, yes??? Just wondering if anyone has any experience with back loads from Brissy to Sydney and how I might organise such a thing ?? Any suggestions gladly received. Thanks.
Curl
I may be able to get it to you from our Brendale (Q) warehouse at a cheap rate.

I just can't help myself on this one. Check it out:

eBay item: 110619013330

I wondering about legality with airbag compatibility (insurance). If it's ok, this would work nicely. It seems to just about blend in with Sam's leading edge. I'm seeing a nice pair of spotties being mounted. Any thoughts from the US end? Possible group buy maybe if it's suitable (maybe a clone)?
haha- "History sold: 1"

no thanks

Thanks Engineer...look forward to the fitting instructions as well.

Alright, sorry about the delay in getting them shipped, but they are now officially on thier way down under. Since they are coming air freight i doubt the events in japan will hold it up any but ya never know.

I will have detailed installation instructions up before they get to you.

Thanks guys!

Good stuff Engineer! look forward to the armour.....the guys at the mail room might be a bit overwhelmed when they receive it:)

With this fitted to the underside, the next thing we will see are Tregs crossing open water , as they do in Iceland ( the big alloy water ski ):

i know the plates are still en route, but this weekend I went on an overland trip with www.centraloverland.com and got to put the skidplate through its paces. I didnt go looking for trouble but it certainly found me. Here is some product testing porn.

She took at least 2 big hits and countless others all at low speed of 5-10 mph. Cnat wait to see what you guys can put it through.

They've been in transit for a week. Where do we think they are now. I imagine someone has a tracking number?

Big shipping update:

while i was out of town this weekend on the Overland trip i recieved some bad news that the shipment from Houston to Mo had been lost...After thinking we had found it a few times and even filing a claim this morning, i was able to locate the plates about 10 minutes ago at a loading dock in houston.

Vitran bellieves the shipment will be at Mailbox International on Friday. if that is the Case, Mark will send them out first thing monday morning and all of you will have skidplates that friday or monday.

Sorry about not having the updates, but i wanted to get this resolved before i worried anyone.

Edit:
If you would like to follow the shipment from houston to Mo here is the tracking number:
00417256369
Tracked: http://www.vitranexpress.com/Tracing/Tracing2.aspx?epr=00417256369

Once they leave Mo on a fedex plane i will post another tracking number.

What is "Mo" , Missouri ?
