I vaguely remember a person on the forum that replaced his rear sway with one from a Cayenne Turbo.

Could this be correct? Would this help my Treg?

Wondering if this is something that I should look into.

general advice is not to use a swaybar when equipped with air
I think that ryangambrill is referring to the stabilizer bars, not weight distributing hitches;). I have the Cayenne Turbo stabilizers on my V10; helps flatten out the cornering a bit with the heavy diesel. I would recommend the mod -- both front and rear bars, though, to preserve balanced handling.

Did the ride become any stiffer over style of bumps like rail road track crossings?

Can I ask you where you sourced yours other than the obvious VW dealer?

The sway bars increase torsional stability without making the jounce/rebound any stiffer; ie, flatter cornering. I purchased the bars from Sunset Porsche in Oregon. They can be ordered from any Porsche dealer.
Pardon my lack of technical terminology on this subject, but I was always under the impression that larger(stiffer) sway bars would take away from the side to side independence, of an "independent suspension." One would feel this effect when crossing over bumps in a diagonal fashion. Going back to the rail road question I asked, I should have been more specific. Crossing over the tracks in a very perpendicular fashion, would make no difference in ride, regardless of what sway bars you had on. However crossing over some serious track line diagonally, I was always led to believe that with significantly stiffer sway bars you would feel this. Obviously, the on a grander scale, the off roaders here would notice the decreased articulation.

Thanks for the sources guys. I'll email them for a price ;).

Dude, I know exactly what you mean. I had a huge H Sport Swaybar on my Audi Allroad, it was great in the corners, but hitting bumps on an angle, even man hole covers would cause a moment of unsettle feel to the car. Now this bar was about 4x as heavy as the OEM, I doubt the CTT bar is that much bigger.

what am I missing??
Below is the email response I got from suncoast Porsche...

"Chris,

If you just need the air ride sway bars from the Cayenne Turbo prices are 839.00 for the front and 796.00 for the rear.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can help you out with.

Thanks,

I think you had better shop around;) Hard to imagine that much of a price increase; are they including the air shocks too?
For my 2008 V10 with air suspension.

From my 29 Oct. 09 Invoice from Sunset Imports in Beaverton, Oregon:
Part No. Description List Net Quantity
955-333-701-30 Stabilizer 152.82 96.66 1
955-343-792-50 Stabilizer 12.00 7.59 4
955-343-701-50 Stabilizer 255.73 161.75 1
955-333-792-30 Stabilizer 8.98 5.68 4

Shipping to Denver was 31.50.

Of course, I received my Porsche Club discount; I never would have imagined what a blessing that would be:p

That is insane, I know that there have been some increases from Porsche, but this seems extreme.

Did you call Sunset in Portland? The one thing to be careful of the guys at Sunset, is that they don't ship to addresses that are different then the address your credit card bill goes to.

I know what u mean. I have H-Sport Comp front and rear sways on my Mini. Front is 27mm and rear is 25.5mm..... The rear end lifts up about a foot coupled with my PSS9's, AP 6-point cage and strut bars tying it all in...:p:cool:

What did you find out about the cost? Earlier in the thread they looked much cheaper than later.

Is this something that you are going to install yourself?

To be honest I'm already concerned about not getting the right parts, I didn't spend enough time on it, cost was less than 300 for front + rear sway bars... I have stats about them in an email somewhere, I think the front is 38-39mm and rear might be 26 or something like that, could be off a little. Not terribly concerned, Jeff, the guy I dealt said returns were no problem!
