I did an oil change on the egg about 1.5 months ago, using my remaining Redline synthetic that I had lying around, that was primarily used for my turbocharged BMW. I only average about 15000km-20000km a year on the Touareg, so I won't be seeing an oil change again until well into the late fall-early winter.
I've done oil an analysis before on past Jetta TDI's using the dealer Castrol Syntec....money is not an issue.

BTW, on my previous 2002 Jetta TDI(gave to brother), the analysis at about 10000km, showed that the oil was right on target for the factory recommended interval of 16000km, which really did surprise quite frankly. Mind you, these engines are sleepers, with all that 1500-2700 rpm operating range.
One thing is for sure, I will send out the Redline to see how it held up in this type of V8 Audi non-fsi engine. Redline doesn't claim the extreme miliage intervals of Amsoil, but they do indicate extended intervals over your average other synthetic, so it will be interesting to see what the results are at 10000km. I do have a heavy foot also.
