I just purchased some black Cayenne GTS style wheels to put on my wifes black Touareg. Obviously now I will have to address the calipers to really set off the new wheels and tires.

I would love to have some input from the forum as to which color to paint them. Originally I was just going to go with the typical Red caliper with white lettering. That's a bulletproof look. However, I realize there are other options out there, including this burnt copper color that really caught my eye. I have also heard of guys using standard automotive single stage urethanes and painting them every color under the sun. I just thought I would ask you guys what you thought might look best.

Thanks,
SHMO

I actually just took delivery of a (new-to-me) 2008 Cayenne. It has 21 inch "sport wheels" which is basically just these wheels but in a traditional alloy finish. It has these (massive, beautiful, awe-inspiring...) red brake calipers that I think really set off the look. I would say red is preferable if you are going for the traditional sporty look....but those yellow ones would certainly look nice. Personally, not a huge fan of the copper though, just my opinion!

RED - Will go well with the Treg's big red tail lights. Awesome selection on wheels. Are those the OEM 21" GTS wheels? I've been debating getting the 20" GTS replicas on ebay.

Oh God no! I couldn't dream of affording the factory 21" GTS wheels...haha

I bought the 22" knock offs from Wheeltech.com. I'm pretty happy with them in regards to offset, size and finish.

So that is one negative vote for the copper color. To be honest it really struck me when I first saw the photo of that color on a caliper, but I wasn't sure how it would look on the vehicle.

Thanks guys, keep the votes coming.

I say since it is your wifes how about hot pink with black lettering. Think about it and you will like it.

great...so far we have red leading..... yellow not too far behind....Yeti can't play anymore...haha

I am glad you have a sense of humor since it seems to be a lost thing now a days. :) I still think the hot pink would look cool.

I like low key...silver is as flashy as I'd get.

I kinda thought low key too, but I thought the satin black would just get lost in the wheels and end up making them look just more black with no detail. The silver I would like to consider too, but I thought that might look like an odd pairing too. I appreciate the suggestions guys...glad to know that everyone has their own flavor

Yeti...didn't I tell you that you couldn't play anymore?
Actually, my wife would probably love the idea of pink. She is definitely geared towards pink. However, I might be caught driving this thing from time to time, and I don't want to have to go fist a cuffs with some 17 year old in a riced out Honda over the color of my calipers...haha

what about a dark browny magnesium color with red decals? not sure if you can get the right color out of a spraycan, but it would look like it came out of the "special parts" bin.

Anyways sounds like you're doing the right thing...solicit opinions but do whatever YOU like.

White isn't an option. Dirty white calipers I have seen before....I'd rather have rusty ones...haha

Let's face it, Red is classic cool, for calipers. I very well might go that direction. But I really like the idea of the "special parts" bin look. That is sort of where I was headed with the copper colored calipers.

Here is magnesium.
