daninyogurt, is this post-fix? If so, does the malone tune fix the shift points?
Yes, this is post fix. As for the shift points, it is weird. For the first couple weeks the shift points seemed to be back to normal. At cold starts it did not hold the revs in second and third gears anymore. But then after 3 weeks, it would start to hold the revs and shift high when it was a cold start. Kind of weird. In both situations and before the tune, once the car is warmed up the shifting returns to normal. I am thinking about putting the stock tune back on for a bit and then reloading the malone tune to see if changes the shifting again.

I have a 2015 Execline TDI with R-Line added. This fix for the emissions is really upsetting. I bought this vehicle for performance and feel. I'm interested in this and any other advice on what to do if this really does tick me off. From what I hear most of what I love about driving the vehicle will be diminished after the emissions fix. What they are offering me is not worth what I am compensating. I live in Canada and just got my settlement info.

Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but what's a DFE? Do you mean DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) or DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)?

I ordered the Rawtek delete and malone stage 2 for my 2013 Touareg TDI. Should arrive next week. Anyone have any details on the installation? Pictures, tips, etc?

From Rawtek's website:

-Support the transmission and remove the transmission crossmember to remove the original exhaust without cutting it.

-Access to one of the bolts on the downpipe flange is quite difficult. We’ve found that a combination of long wobble extensions will allow access to the offending nut through the wheel well.

-There will be 2 rubber hoses left hanging after the DPF is removed. These, along with all unused sensor connectors can simply be tied up, out of the way.

-We typically pack unused electrical connectors with grease to avoid corrosion in the event that you ever return the vehicle to stock.

Usual install time is less than 2 hours.

Well, obviously I saw that when I bought the damned thing :p The bit about the difficult to remove bolt has me slightly concerned. Ordered some wobble extension sets from amazon to be sure I was ready for that. Do you have anything else to add to their list? I'm hoping the bolts come out easy. I don't really have the equipment to mess with that and I have not found a shop that will help me if I need it.

I would think any decent exhaust shop should be able to help with the install. That said, I also doubt it will be that difficult to DIY. I haven't installed mine as my T2 is being bought back in 2 weeks. My soon-to-be-mine T3 will get it once the warranty runs out.

Good point. I'll give it a go and use Midas if I really screw it up!

I just got back for a 1K mile trip each way in my 2013 Touareg with stage 2 delete. Couple things of note.
1. Looking forward to TCM upgrade/replacement. Once the car gets warm its not too bad on the highway.
2. Over 2K miles through flat and mountains I averaged 30.5Mpg with 3 passengers and a full load of gear going 80 mph.
3. Driving though the mountains was fantastic. going up 4-5% grades at 2K RPM and not having to downshift to pass was awesome.
4. I live in Chicago so not many mountains day to day, but man, if I lived in Colorado or any place with altitude changes this thing would be worth its weight in gold.

Love this truck

Yea, I have not noticed a change in MPG, which is a big plus. Well, I did drive with a much heavier foot for the first few weeks lol.
THe partial throttle power increase and the midrange power increase is great.
I'm going to flash the car back to the stock tune for a short road trip this weekend to see how much of a power difference/loss there is. A power loss would be easier to detect on the butt dyno compared to a power increase I feel like.

I Installed the Rawtech delete kit and Malone Stage 2 upgrade about a month ago on my 13 t-reg sport.

I had an independent mechanic install the exhaust kit with my direction. I was injured and couldn't do it myself with just hand tools. Having a lift or a pit would help a shade tree mechanic tremendously. After the install was done, the flash was a cinch. I did have a minor snafu with the flashzilla, but Malone was very responsive and helped get it set straight.

I originally had the apr stage 1 tune, pre-ECR fix. I not going to lie, think it felt slightly more peppy than the post-ECR fix stage 2 and delete. Let's blame it on the TCU flash left over from the ECR fix. It still puts a smile on my face though.

I'd say the biggest practical improvement for me was fuel economy. I now see about 34 MPG on my 25 minute drive to work on mixed highway and street driving. It hits 40mpg at 71 mph depending on which way the wind blows.

In testing, it got about 8 seconds 0-60 with the fix and as low as 6.5 with the malone tune and delete. It requires a little finesse in the launch to get it to go really fast.

It smokes at 3500+ rpm. The thickness depends on how much you mash the throttle.

I have not tried towing my travel trailer yet. My only concern with that is the soot from the exhaust sticking to the trailer.

My tires hate me.

Overall impression is positive. A++ highly recommend. Why weren't these cars sold like this in the first place?
