Grabbed K0711 today from the post on page 129, had some great feature adds for my 2011 Hybrid. It aslo seems to have improved some of my bluetooth issues with my Pixel 2. I upgraded from version 0170. Thanks everybody for the help.

The updated hybrid power flow graphics are a lot better as well as the compass, don’t remember what else it upgraded. One thing I did notice was after the upgrade, music media no longer pauses but keeps playing at a reduced volume. I liked it better when it would pause.

Do you happen to have a scan before and after?

I'd check the long coding and see if that has changed at all.

If not there is a way to check the adaptation values:
Ross-Tech: VCDS Tour: Controller Channels Map

I'd check yours with someone else with a Hybrid that doesn't have the update yet.
It's probably an adaptation channel, but check the long coding first since its easier

Morning
I've downloaded KO711 and extracted the file from .zip but when I try to create the bootable sd card, I get the message ""This image is either non-bootable, or it uses a boot compression method that is not supported by Rufus.."
What have I done wrong?

You're very welcome sir!
Thanks for the help/info. Unfortunately the "fix" is short lived. As soon as the vehicle is re-started again, the two error codes show back up.
Since they are both due to the firmware/software being done WITHOUT being hooked up to the mothership, and do NOT affect the vehicle/infotainment system.... I'll just leave 'em alone and pretend I never saw any error codes for the update. What a sham(e).

Just simply using the green menu doesn't work. You have to correct the value for the one error and then it will stay gone. 2 errors you can't remove.

Sorry for the premature request for help. I missed the Dropbox link but I’m managed to copy to a SD and it’s loading as I type. I really hope this does some good to tne stereo. But had anyone gone aftermarket to really bring up the sound. My 2007 lr3 had a more responsive ‘system’.

Some more info about your Touareg would help us help you.

If you do not have the dynaudio system, recoding it as though you do have dynaudio is really supposed to help improve the sound.

Hi Folks! Just bought myself a 2012 Touareg. went for the 4.2L V8 which is an absolute blast to drive. Been looking at map/FW upgrades, still waiting for the local VW dealer to get back to me, I expect that will take a week and be bloody expensive.

Happy enough to take a punt at doing the FW myself. I would assume that it would be the EU version I would go for, as the car was an import from VW themselves? when I go looking for software versions on the unit, I get different formats of versions, they don't match any of the ones from the above posts , any ideas on where I start?

Sooo you are in North America with a 4.2 V8? I'd love to see pics of that.

Let me do some research and cross flashing.

Do you have north american maps?

my bad, don't know how to add my location so it's shows on the profile. I'm in Abu Dhabi. I've done more searching on the forum and I've found some pretty helpful info from some chap called miazza. will use his guide to update the firmware. was in touch with VAG-Technik in the UK for maps, but they can't supply my regions version, they only have EU and NA (I need Rest Of World 2, same one that has Oz and South Africa). I've emailed the local dealer, but they are not likely to be much help. any suggestions on where I can get a map update?

car is totally stock, but in great nick for the age if it. no rain here, so never rusts. I upgraded from a 2008 R32 that was spotless outside, would have been a little rusty at that age in the UK!

well, managed to get the FW updated. picking up a data SIM to work on enabling the various stuff in the green screen menu. now just need to work out what I'm going to do for the maps. Am I right in thinking that the Google Earth is just an overlay on the VW maps, ie my maps are 2012, so anything new around here isn't going to be able to navigated to?

radio cuts in and out

Thanks Finscher...updated my system tonight. Works great...only thing I'm trying to fix now is all my audio only plays on the passenger side and my sirus radio cuts in and out. All this was happening prior to the update though but I thought this might fix it.
I have same problem now
how did you solve this ?
thanks

Well I have a feel good story, thanks to this forum!!!

I just bought a 2011 Touareg. Love it, except when I tried to pair my phone up it wouldn't work. My phone didn't see the car, the car was full of old bluetooth profiles. I tried to delete the old profiles and it came back saying it couldn't delete them. I downloaded the software update but just couldn't pull the trigger on modifying something on my new car with something I downloaded off the internet. So I went into the dealer, they tried a few things then had me leave it there so they could run diagnostics on it. They came back and said there was a faulty module 5F....just under $1000 to repair. Ouch. They also said that VW had no software update for my vehicle, despite the present version being 170. I thought if it needs to be replaced, I had nothing to lose by trying the update. The service guys agreed. I came home, did the update and...success! All the old profiles are gone and bluetooth works perfect, both with the phone and audio.

I'm a happy man! Thanks to everyone here that made this possible!
I have exactly the same problem, do you have a link to the update and what tool did they use?
Thanks,
Dmitry
