Question regarding 755R
If I order brand new TCM in Europe and have it delivered to an address in Germany, subsequently shipped it to USA, would it come with original software or crappy stuff we already have?
if this is a working option I wouldn't mind getting one and sharing it with rest of us.

Can you send me a pm on pricing and options - I have a 2015 Touareg TDI. I also have a 2015 Golf TDI DSG - any options for the golf? Let me know, thanks.
PM on the way, and yes a DSG solution is also available, but a little more involved since the brains for the DSG's are inside them trans. :nerd:

Most likely a new unit would come with software that is updated.

I am still looking for someone that has an UNFIXED 2016.

We thought I had a donor before, but it turns out that is was already updated.

BTW if anyone is having a hard time getting those two little clips undone, if you can pull the carpet back far enough there is a 10mm bolt that holds the bracket with the TCM in place. You remove the bolt and the bracket along with TCM will pop out and give you a lot more access...

Would you be able to post a pic of what you reference?

Yrktreg, please PM me about TCM and possible DME flashing for a 2015 TDI Treg that has been 'fixed', as well as any options for a 2015 Golf TDI DSG that has had the Phase 2 modification completed.

Thanks!

2014 R-Line here (750CF), and Joe's got her her groove back. I've been getting used to driving the post-fix programming and like a boiling frog, I hadn't realized in how many ways it was bad. The truck shifts much more enthusiastically again, doesn't rev the piss out of a cold engine (I got used to paddle-forcing upshifts when cold) and I have engine braking back!

But one thing that was unexpected were stops/starts. I take pride in being able to drive very intentionally and precisely and part of that is coming to a stop with no final jerk. After the fix, I found this almost impossible. I think this is due to the engine braking programming where it's disengaging the torque converter so there is no preload on the driveline, except if you try to feather the brake off as you come to a stop, it reengages the converter and the truck starts creeping forward. This is completely gone now, I can come to a buttery smooth stop again.

More specific comments about Joe, he's been a great help since I first started talking to him when this thread started and everything went as promised. Super easy transaction and many online sellers could learn a lesson from him in what is prompt communication. I am in Canada by the way, this added no extra hassle with the border.

Hi All,

I have what might be a silly question. I think I have located the "two tabs" under the passenger seat that hold the module in place. Can anyone advise how to release these tabs?
Sorry Scott just got around to having a free second to reply.

I think you already figured it out based on your email :)

But there are 2 tabs that hold the TCM in place upside down under the passenger seat.

There is also a 10mm bolt that holds the bracket in place so sometimes it is just easier to dig for that 10mm bolt to release the bracket, and then you have better access to the tabs on the bracket. The 10mm bolt is hidden pretty well under the carpet though it is probably only accessible with a wrench.

The connector is a slide type connector meaning that you pull on the tab on the side and the tab slides out of the connector releasing it from the TCM.

Hope this helps everyone, I should make a tutorial some day :grin2:
