OK so I've compiled together a list of all the possible TCM's that I have found:
If anyone has one that is different please post it here along with the year.

I am also going to list the ones that I can currently flash, and the ones that I need donors for.

Thanks everyone!

0C8927750G Can flash now!

0C8927750AK I need a non fix donor for this one!

0C8927750CF Can flash now!

0C8927755 Can flash now!

0C8927755R I need a non fix donor for this one!

Again please let me know if any of you have a different TCM part number!

What does your "flash" actually do?

I suspect return the TCM to pre-fix state. Hence the request for a "donor" unit i.e. a unit to suck the non fix image from . . . my guess . . will see if I am correct :)

I have both a fixed AK and a non-fixed Eurospec AK, but they have different software versions. I don't know what the firmware differences between part numbers are, but It seems like the 4-digit software revision makes all the difference to shifting behavior. My original TCM went from "Component: AL1000 AISIN 001 2269" to "... 3398" after the fix. So you may be able to apply a tune from another P/N as long as the software revision is similar. Might be worth exploring!

Yes the software is like different versions of windows, newer isn't always better :wink2:

What's the 4 digit software version of the eurospec AK?

Well now that's interesting!

Coding is very different as well, 0045416
Did you try coding to what your original unit was?

I am looking into cross flashing different software into different modules.
There is some different software available that I am going to try and flash to my TCM that may offer something for people with tunes. This is not a custom tune, but still factory stuff.

Not sure where it reads the 7 digits above. The long coding helper in VCDS still seems to read the same; it was 001168 originally, and now running 00B168. Shift patterns jibe with the pre-fix behavior, but some shifts are a little rougher; I can feel the torque converter engage, sometimes a little lurchy, especially between 2 and 3, where it was pretty smooth before.

Thanks for doing work on this!

Is your treg tuned at all?

And your very welcome!

No tune, may look into it once the extended warranty is up. It's funny how much I associated with the performance of the Touareg wasn't the engine at all, but the transmission. More torque never hurts though!

So i logged into the trans and i code only long code it. No drop downs as seen in previous threads about switching over to a cayenne code. This is what i have.

You can pull it from under the passenger seat - Under the carpet, left towards the transmission.
It's held in place with two tabs - one on each side that need to be pulled away from the module. No need to disconnect it. With the seat all the way up and forward, there is enough room to turn it around and read the number which is on a label on the module itself.

Hope this helps..
