could be worth the drive down to Melbourne maybe.....you got the pics rmpx?

Yup. SWMBO and I are all set. Your proposed itinery is an excellent suggestion. Probably won't be doing too much track work with the 21"s but definately make our way to the winery for a fine wine, or two.

Might even have to bath the beast before the drive up. Be the first time in about 8 weeks !!

I like your itinerary Paul - it's looks appealing, with something for all comers. It's great that RMPX can bring a new model for us to crawl over.........well done.

I'll be there.

Yep pix arrived yesterday, had a brief look. There's some fine looking fellow in a turban, most photogenic ;-)
Thanks Rob! I'm reading your writeup on 'D3 put to the test' in the overlander mag, and look forward to even a better one on the Touaregs!

Absolutely Peter.........the more the merrier. This is about the 3rd attempt to organise a gathering, and will (I believe) be the first Victorian GTG. All comers are welcome - your entry ticket is your Treg...!!! lol

Morganfield winery is open, and will be expecting us about 4pm.
This will be our last stop of the day, and a good place to regroup, if anyone gets separated, arrives late etc.

I think it'll be good to tally the numbers soon.. .....who & how many all up?
Seems like the first Vic GTG will be a big one....well done!
Then next one should be in the highlands so the NSW & VIC treggers can meet at one point and enjoy a few days in the high country.

I believe we have 9 starters:- Ptannerford (Paul), AlanT (Alan), Peterbeams (Peter), DMM_AU (David), DEAMONS (Chris), Treggie (name?), V10downunder (Gerald), RMPX (Rob), & myself. Have I missed anyone?
Poolwater & Ozvino were interested in the failed GTG from last year, but haven't responded to my contact. Anyone know them?

Alan

9 cars...that'll make a lovely group shot which we can do at Paul's gaff. Please bring them clean, and bring a handheld UHF radio if you have one, makes organising the cars into position a lot easier.

Should be good.
Please do bring a UHF if you have one.

Also how does the 9 split as far as a desire to go off road?
I'm wondering whether half might like to do a winery tour ending at Morganfields, while the other half challenge some muddy tracks.

Also a good backup plan if the weather conspires against us.

Erin and I want to hit a few tracks (as long as it isn't too wet)

Definately a starter but probably not for the tracks. 21" road tyres don't have quite the requisite grip. But definately a goer for the winery tour. Will make sure we have plenty of boot space. :)

No UHF's unfortunately. Also, who has the Journo's if they are still coming?

Also, names Kim, wife is Susan

BTW: Anyone with the RNS510 Sat Nav unit that would like an updated map DVD (V2 based) with latest cameras/school zones, etc. And/or the 1100 series Firmware update, please drop me a PM so I can get/give some details and make arrangements. I'll be building a new image this weekend and would like to ensure I have everything ready before the GTG.

Cheers

Yep I'm still coming.

For those that don't have a handheld UHF, may I suggest investing in one of these very useful devices for chat and for safety on any form of vehicle convoy or general out-of-shouting-range communication. From this range:

:: Uniden Australia ::

the 49 and 65 are good. Avoid the small 37.

I'm still coming,

Name is Peter, wife Pam.

I don't have a UHF handheld.

With 19" road tyres, will not be looking to do anything too serious in the bush unless it is really dry (unlikely).

Will do the winery.

Looking forward to it,

Peter

if possible it'll be good if someone can do a 1 page handout of the route(mud map) of the trek/loop which everyone can follow from.....
