09 V6 TDI

Hey Guys
I have been lurking for a few months, catching up on my Touareg knowledge. I’m a long time VW owner, mostly TDI.
I am seriously considering putting a deposit on an 09 V6 TDI. Does anyone know anything about the engine or MPG I should expect from that engine?
Also, I have to choose the options, such as adjustable suspension, Nav, ect. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
From what I’m told the 09 V6 TDI will arrive sometime around Jan.

We have had a 3.0 TDi V6 in Europe since 2005 (mine is a 2006 model) - but VW have just launched here a more powerful and more fuel efficient version with better emissions so I bet that is the one you will be getting in 2009.

It is a Common Rail diesel- so when ordering wit will be listed as the 3.0 TDI CR 240 DPF.

The new engine is up on power from 222 to 240 horse power, torque is up 10% from 500nm to 550nm, fuel consumption is about 10% better (combined driving is listed at 28.3 miles per UK gallon!).

For us in the UK- the 3.0 TDi is the only option as fuel is now just over £6.40 per gallon (about $12US).

I believe the newer version Cas is talking about is what is coming to the US/North American market. Although, probably due to some emissions changes, ours is supposedly downrated from 240hp to 221.

Hey all - I've been searching high and low for information on when the Touareg V6 TDI is being released in North America (I'm in Canada) with no luck. I'm very close to purchasing a new 08 V6 FSI, but haven't pulled the trigger because I'm compelled by the thought of a more powerful and fuel effecient version...but if its more than 6 months away and will cost a premium then I'll go with the 'bird in hand'. Can anyone provide any information with respect to release date for Canada and price?

Here in Jakarta I am going tomorrow to put in my order for an 09 3.0 TDI. I am told it will be delivered to Singapore this year in late October to early Nov. and then I will have a friend import it for me at a reasonable cost............

Regardless of the lack of information, it will be in the US early next year. The question is can you wait until next year? If you can't wait go with the V6 FSI, if you can I'd wait and go with the TDI. Make sure your checking both this forum and VWVortex.com for latest details.

It will be here in 2009... but an exact release date in the U.S. has not been made official yet.

My build date for the 09 3.0 V6 TDI in the factory in Eastern Europe is around the 15th of September, delivery and sitting at the port, sea transport, customs clearance and registration here and the dealer tells me should be in my garage by middle of November.
