Tried a search but....

I notice that when filling the tank in the T2 it clicks off about half full and I have to wait until I hear the pressure rushing out (or in for that matter) to stop...is this a normal Egg issue?

TIA

FWIW, I've heard of this issue on Audi A4...there is an evaporator canister associated with the filler tube that can get blocked up...caused by folks overfilling (topping off)...or in another place the tube gets crimped.

Best practice is to fill slowly in the early (coolest) part of the day.

I've had similar issues with my T2.

It seems to be pump specific, I just avoid the gas stations where that happens (Chevron), the one I use now (Shell) has never had such problems.

And no it is not the credic card limit, nowadays the pump stops at $80 (the amount is also gas station specific), thus I can never get the tank quite full when totally empty.

I assume you mean you can't get the tank quite full without re-running your credit/debit card.

Sounds like a problem with the vapor recovery bellow on the gas nozzle. Especially if it only happens at certain stations. If the bellow has fuel in it from the last guy topping off or if it is not pushed in all the way, it will kick off the pump.

I am having the same issue with mine.

I have filled-up 3 times (2 different stations) since I got it. All 3 times it has kicked off the pump with about half way, once with only about 4 gallons in. Resetting the lever it will continue to full although I suspect its kicking out again at about 98% full as the needle never on "Full".

Here in NJ full service is the law so the attendants set the pump and leave which makes the problem quite annoying.

I figured I will bring it back to the dealer but I'm sure since it is not a cut and dry problem they "won't be able to replicate the issue". Plus with $4/gal fuel I doubt they will be willing to do much testing.

This is an 08' T2 V6

OK figured it out - I was putting the pump nozzle too far into the TReg - if I put the nozzle in at the minimum depth it never stops and never hisses.

Mystry solved.
