On most VAG cars, I have been able to softcode the car that press/hold the up or down button on the keyfob remote opens or closes all windows.
Is this possible on the T1?

It was always folding the mirrors people used to ask about and there was a guy in Spain who sold a fix for that many years ago.

That was one of the first things I looked for when I got my T2 but I'm pretty sure it's not an option.

That means the Treg also doesn't have the feature to insert key into door lock and hold open/close to open/close all windows?

That it has, just can't do it from the remote.

Not on my 2004 T1.

Brain fart on my part - you had to use the key in the driver s door and hold it one way or the other to open / close.

To do what, open and close windows with the key in the door, yes it does. That feature has been available on the Touaregs since '04. '04-'10 does not have the ability to open and close windows from the remote as in push a button and nothing there to activate the feature either.

Not sure why that leave this programming feature off so many VW (yet even the lowest Audi have the (granted: hidden) feature.
In my particular case its worse: I had to change the lock (previous owners never used the key and/or lubed the lock, so it complete seized), and now would need to use 2nd key to active the 'insert key and hold, roll up/down all windows' feature.

VW Group brands work hard at being different - Skoda models have many interior features for usefulness that VWs don't get - despite Skoda being the budget brand - to some extent VW is squeezed between Skoda and Audi and it shows, at least in markets where all three are sold.
