When did the 7B VW Navigation DVD come out?

I am looking at upgrading the navigation DVD on my 2006 Touareg. Does anyone know when the current 7B navigation DVD was released?

I have seen a lot of 5B DVD showing up for sale on Ebay lately for about $125. Brand new 7B is available on www.navigation.com for $199 plus shipping cost. Would hate to spend $200 on 7B and have 8A come out a couple of weeks later, that would stink!

7B is getting pretty old itself now - Sept 09 if I remember correclty. 8B should be out very soon by time alone...

I'm just worried 8B is never going to come out - if you think about it there has not been a new version since the RNS2 has been replaced by the 510.

that's weird to me as I can't think it's that hard for navteq to "translate" their maps for each specific vehicle... maybe they had a huge stock of 7B and their trying to get rid of it

Thanks! Just what I wanted to know. I'll watch for version 8 to come out before I pull the trigger on a new navi DVD.
