Hello. I am getting confused on what is the power output for a facelift 2008 v6 tdi. Some brochures are quoting 225bhp while some are quoting 240bhp.

Which is the correct figure?

Both, depends on the exact engine.
Earlier BKS engine is 165kW, later 4 letter engine code cars are 171kW.

Ok that makes sense. Do you know the year that they switched to 240bhp?

I think that that depends on the country.
My Treg was built July 2007 but is considered a MY08 model.
It has the face lift but retains the BKS engine.
Maybe mine was a "lets use up all the BKS engines" model.


I have noticed that when searching for parts on US sites, to get the V6 TDI engine, you need to specify a 2009 year vehicle.

Yes that make sense...its always a soft cut over when they do a change. Nothing goes to waste in automotive.
