Hi have a 2014 Touareg, And just had a westfalia towbar & wiring fitted .VW did the last Wiring to the Dash to my Touareg, and the coding for the trailer module. And it still will not work at all, When I drive the vehicle the dash says to check left trailer indicator / check right trailer indicator, shows a pic of a trailer on the screen when reversing, There are no rear sensors Auto start /Stop done not work . And that’s after 7Hr at VW all I got was a was "dunno, what is wrong!! Hope can someone point me in the direction of a guru with the software & knowledge that might be able to fix these issues any help would be greatly appreciated for it’s going back to VW next week for them to have a second try at fixing the problem the made. They were more than happy to take the Money and send out a Car that has issues ..

Thank

there is a two pin connector in bellow the plastic over the passenger rh guard , just near where the flat part of the passenger seat meets the wheel well. Its the cam buss controller which needs to be connected together to close the communication loop.

I was in the same boat.

When it says to check the trailer lights etc. it also sounds to me like it is something to do with low resistance due to probably LED's being used in the trailer. I'm not a technical guru but it sounds to me like all you need is a special resistor pack for the trailer wiring. My dad had to put one on his caravan for his Audi Q7 to stop asking the same thing as you are having problems with. It might not be the car.

It may be worth checking that the tow module settings are for Aust and not for Europe. In Europe they can park on either side of the road and the park lights are on separate circuits for right & left sides so that only the roadside lights can be left on. If it is set for Europe you will get a lights-out fault warning
