Hi again, i managed to install maps but how to activate it? i downloaded your activator but how to use it?
Go to -> nr 12

Everything was already explained in this, or other map updates threads.

16. Here's P0824 firmware (for ROW - Rest of World and ECE - Europe only):
Some on the Internet say that the K0821 original firmware is faster than P0824 and P0824 on car with DYNAUDIO sounds pure in compare with K0821.

1. Does anybody here noticed that P0824 sound quality with DYNAUDIO become worse in compare with your original firmware?
2. Does anybody here noticed that P0824 firmware works slower than your previous original one?

I'm in Australia, but our firmware is European based.
I have P0821 on my unit, and it has been fine as far as sound quality is concerned. Since the most recent map upgrade, I find that the unit tends to load Navigation a lot quicker now.

Does P0821 firmware also support latest maps version 6.36.0?
our version (for AusNZ) is a different sequence to what has been provided/needed for Euro users.
Sorry, cannot confirm, but @Lysy should be able to answer that (I reckon he will respond to this soon - no need to ask separately - just watch and wait ;) )

I had P0822. It was working flawlessly. Then I uploaded P0824. I had from time to time problems with reading scripts. Then I reuploaded P0824 again, not all the modules were updated, then I uploaded it once again (version from the link), every module was updated and everything works. Every script is read, no problems so far. There's no noticable difference for me between these two firmwares. I have no Dynaudio.

Does P0821 firmware also support latest maps version 6.36.0?
Yes.

My link has no User defined option avaiable. MuIOC will stay with S.

You can't tick Bootloader. If You chose User defined method You need to tick all modules to Y except for this with N/A status. I reccommend Standard method.

Yes i can. Please, see photo below:
...
You misunderstand the response: you are advised NOT to select Bootloader when using User-defined update method. In any case, Standard method is always recommended for normal Software updates. User-defined method is necessary only in special cases. --g

He is using User defined method...

I want to straighten things up. First of all if You're using Standard or User defined method the list of modules at START of an update will look like this:
Image

In the Standard method You just press Next, You can't tick anything, a Bootloader or nothing more that was selected by system itself. That's the purpose of the Standard mode, not to do any harm.

In the User defined, You can edit options. MuIOC contains two blocks, Bootloader with 823 or 827 addresses which: can't musn't shouldn't be ticked and the main apllication. Because MuIOC is the ONLY module, which Bootloader has other than 0 address, his status is set to S, not Y. If You tick a Bootloader status will change to Y, but I don't reccommend it. Clearing a Bootloader can clear vital informations.

TO reassume; You are using User defined mode, so my guess is You are using not the firmware from my link (probably it will end up with not reading the scripts afterwards) or You've editet a metafile.

Don't tick a Bootloader.

Thank you a lot for this clarification.

You can pin your answer for other users, i guess it will be useful for others too.

There's no need cause people use Standard mode.
Hello Lysy, could you clarify the maps update moments. I found, that my RNS 850 native firmware, is P0824 version from the stock.

1. Does the P0824 version pinned in this thread is specially modified and contains necessary changes to make new maps work or i can leave my stock firmware as it is the same version?
2. Why maps update does not contain latest offline POI, it is not possible to make them work on RNS 850, or they simply apsent?

The script is needed when clearing DTC via VCDS or any other tool (f.e. GEM) doesn't work, and it reoccurs. It deletes cause of the error not the error itself. Then You need to clear it, then it's done. So apllying the script You got rid of the cause, then You cleared error with VCDS. Simple.
