It's very easy to convert. You need to edit both metafile2.txt files, exchange labels from AUDI_MMI3GP to VW_ECE, rename one folder, add some lines to skip checksum and enabling user mode, add RNS850 version and that's it.

Installed without any hickups on 8.24 firmware. It updated my 6.15 maps and didnt have to Activate again

Well sry guys, there is one mistake there. MapStyles weren't updated to latest version. It means all POI had outdated icons. The new look is way more fresher. I removed the link and will upload fixed version today. For those who downloaded whole maps I'll prepare small fix to update just MapStyles. Sorry, probably I've been tired too much...

The small updated mapstyles work perfectly, took 5 minutes to complete and the results are stunning. The graphics look better than before!

I'm glad it worked. Definitely looks like Amsterdam to me I wonder what this ABC icon stands for, a school maybe? And the second interesting one is with three coloured cirles, a cinema I suppose.

 

There's one more thing worth noticing. Maurice told me, that compacted navi view in between dials has changed within the update. It's much more detailed now. Look for Yourself:

What I have did:
1. Upgraded firmware from P0820 to K0821
2. Updated the maps from ECE 6.20.4 to your version ECE 6.36.0
3. Unblocked with DrGER's script
I drive a V6 TDI registered in September 2015.

Unfortunately the compressed nav view between displays has not changed in the update. I'm missing the much more detailed view shown in the picture above.

Does anyone have a solution to the root cause and the requirements to enable the new view?

Is firmware P0824 required instead of K0821?

What do I need to check?

I would appreciate any advice to help me move forward, thanks in advance!

Everything worked great for me with the 6.35.1 maps for Europe Region!
I hope that in the future the display with the circle and the blue arrow will remain.

This MapStyle with blue arrow is a 9129 version. It's an update from 9127 (red arrow style). But there is also a 9131 version for NAR and AN regions. Unfortunately I don't know how it looks like, cause noone from there has made an update, they seem to be scared

Well, I don't want to bother with my RNS, changing it's region in Green Menu and upload US firmware, upload abroad maps and then back european ones, just to use use them for a moment... It would take too much time.

The last maps for the Touareg 7P RNS 850 are official from 2019!
I'm just happy that I can continue to use the RNS 850 with the latest maps!

If Audi make a new version I'll make them as well. The latest original VW version is from 2021 though. It's a 6.32.1 V15 version. I have this original map on a SD Card, I bought it in VW Autohaus Rothsee.

I have updated maps in my MY2011 RNS850 a few times, standard mode as well as user defined. Last time also with activation.
This time I experienced issues both ways. It simply failed on different steps. I tried unpacking files and a few different SD cards.
At the end it worked fine choosing "Retry" on the failing steps. So, do not give up if You get a "error" message. I don´t understand what the issue was, as with earlier updates I had a charger connected during the update. Anyway,now it is all on track,so once again - thanks a ton!

When I finally succeded It was a 32Gb Verbatim SD HC (Class 10), so no adapter involved. And Yes I suspect that too.
Anyway I didn´t do anything else but trying again to succeed, and now the version and look&feel are correct
Only thing I have not solved ( so far) is to get online without a built in SIMholder., but that is another topic.

If the activator won't start, it's because the firmware you are running on the rns uses a different encryption key to decrypt the .sh file. I had to try multiple activators and all didnt work. The firmware i am using uses a different key. Made a small tool to convert the encryption used on the activator. If u need it ill post it

Are you're talking about XCode at the begining of the fsc file?

For an activator to start, You need to wait really long after RNS850 will turn on.

Don't know if it is called xcode. All i know is that the file that is executed by the firmware has to be encrypted with the same key.

Here is the Repo, in the testfiles folder are the 2 codes that i know of. You can build the gui version if you have visual studio. The console version is compiled in the repo. If you don't have visual studio i can build the gui and upload it.
