I recently bought a set of wheels second hand from a former Audi Q7 owner. I'm looking for a VW centre cap to replace the Audi caps, but I'm not sure what size I need. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I want to make sure what I buy (likely from eBay) will fit so I don't waste my money.

The wheels are stamped with "4L0 601 025A" (might be "4Lo" instead of zero). I presume this is the wheel part number.

I bought a set of VW center caps off ebay for my Q7 winter wheels...I just measured the inside diameter of the opening and bought a corresponding set of caps.

Ditto, I did the same but I needed new ones because my 2008 kept on throwing the front left centre cap (even so after rotating tyres) when going through deep water.

I have mounted the Q7 wheels (which are 8" wide by 18" diameter) on my Touareg already, and I have lost the centre cap diameter measurement. I forgot to take a photo of the cap's part number before installing.

I did try the caps from my original equipment wheels - a set of 18" Tacora's (wheel = 7p6 601 025b, cap = 3b7 601 171) - though they were too small.

I was really hoping someone could help me out so I don't need to take a wheel off the Touareg to get my own measurements.

Interesting how "they" changed the part number's last letter - from A on mine to E on yours, and the width dropped by 0.5 inches. Probably a weight saving measure. In any event, I don't trust that they have kept the same diameter centre cap when they changed the wheel width. Thanks for your help. Its probably best for me to take off a wheel and get my own measurement.

I too was in the same predicament. I purchased some 20" Q7 wheels to be used in the summer. Short of spending a lot of money on eBay buying lots of different size centers, I called my local audi dealer and asked him what size they were.

Also my tread is getting a little low on the back, anybody got an idea on what tyres to use? I've used Goodyear Eagle F1's for a while now and they're pretty good. Wondered if anyone else has a different preference.

They're 275/45/20

I found these to work in my wheels.

Hey, that is good to finally know. I'm on my tablet at the moment so I can't see the part number in the photo... I will come back when I get to my PC. In the mean time, how much did you pay for them. Thanks!

These are 7L6 601 149 and are 77mm dia (approx). They worked for me. Shouldn't cost any more than about 15 bucks on e-bay. Cheers, Dub
