So I installed the factory tow hitch on my '06 TDI. Take it to the dealer here in Las Vegas to have the ecu reprogrammed as everyone says to have done. Problem is the dealer has no idea what I am talking about.

Is there anyone in the Las Vegas area that has a vag-com to do this for me? Of course I'll pay a reasonable fee.
Thanks

I have one of the cheapie eBay cables that actually works. Changing the trailer module code is just a switch from "0" to "1", so it'll be a quick deal. We can also do all sorts of other fun stuff (kill the DRLs, get rid of seatbelt chimes, etc) if you'd like.

This weekend is a bit up in the air, but I'm sure we can fit it in sometime. I also need to vag my DRLs back off, the dealer re-enabled them for some troubleshooting a while back, so this is a good excuse to get the cable out and play.

I'm sending you a private message with my phone number. Gimme a call if you're interested.

Hey Matt, just reading this post from a few years back, mentioning you have a unit. If you still have the unit I'd love to meet up and get some things check out. I have an '05 v6 and just changed my air filter and dumped some seafoam in the intake, smoke came out roaring, but so did lights on my dashboard. Car is running great and the only light that remains in the MIL. Of course the dealer wants a $150 fee just to plug me in and tell me to wait it out for the comp to reset itself.

If you could be of any help I'd really appreciate it! A small fee is okay with me o even a case of beer. My cell is 702-235-7480 can call/text. Thanks a lot!
