So I just sold my Touareg, and it is definitely bitter sweet. Surprisingly, I only have a few items left over -- I gave most of what I had to the new buyer. Below are what I have for sale:

2. Touareg license plate frame - $15 shipped

3. Touareg 1 Tail Lights (set of 4)- $75 shipped

The software is a free download at Ross-Tech.com. The license for the software is in the cable.

^^ What he said. I thought this was needless to say, but just in case, it is a genuine Ross Tech cable purchased direct from Ross-Tech. In very good, like-new condition.

Some have argued the license does not transfer to the new owner and a new license must be purchased, but I have never had a chance to confirm. This is good stuff. I don't know why, but I kind of want that license plate frame.

I knew I read it somewhere and it was just the first page on which I found the statement.

Resale:

This interface acts as a "dongle" for VAG-COM, so the software should be fully functional on any PC you use with the HEX-USB+CAN. However, product support is provided only to the original purchaser. If you buy a second-hand HEX-USB+CAN from someone and want support, you'll still need to pay $99 to register.

The only thing you're missing is the customer support from Ross-Tech for $99, but as you can see, this forum is full of VCDS support.

The cable and the free software are all you need to start making changes.

before buying my VAG COM i called ross tech and asked if it was their product (i gave them the serial number) they confirmed, after that they told me that the license on the cable i was going to buy is owned buy original owner and it will not be transferred to me and i will need to buy new one ( ONLY IF YOU WANT 1 YEAR FREE TECHNICAL SUPPORT FROM ROSS TECH) i did not buy any license, i got the cable and its working perfectly
