CASA 3.0 tdi, is this timing chain related rattle/shudder at the end of the rev on the video? I get no rattle at start up, only when warm after a long trip.
Kind of hard to really tell w/that video.CASA 3.0 tdi, is this timing chain related rattle/shudder at the end of the rev on the video? I get no rattle at start up, only when warm after a long trip.
Definitely does not sound good! Can't you look at the VAGCOM blocks to determine chain stretch?CASA 3.0 tdi, is this timing chain related rattle/shudder at the end of the rev on the video? I get no rattle at start up, only when warm after a long trip.
Doesn't look like it works on CASA engines somehow. If I look at 093 on OBDEleven it's just random figures with no description. But also no degree values so must not be the correct module.Definitely does not sound good! Can't you look at the VAGCOM blocks to determine chain stretch?
If using OBDEleven try the procedure in post #3 of the thread in the link below. Hopefully it helps. Will

OK check out this other video @ 5:50 it mentions 4 channels/blocks by their numbers. You can't input letters into the search field unfortunately, only numbered channels from 0-254. Pretty frustrating! I have cycled through every channel and can't seem to find any that have anything that looks likely to be the degree measurement. Other models seem to have channel 93 as the correct channel. This is what is displayed on 93 on mine. Does it mean anything relevant? View attachment 265972 View attachment 265972
OK I'm not sure on your noise but what I would like to know is if the last video helped you to check your timing chain stretch. Thanks for that. Here is the other noise I'm getting that usually accompanies the rattle on the other video. Doesn't happen often but tonight it was noticeable and I caught it finally. Sounds like a breathy noise almost like darth Vader haha. Noticeable around intercooler/air box but difficult to figure out where it originates! If I drove it again and reattempted it would almost certainly be gone again.
Those channels were empty on mine too unfortunately!OK I'm not sure on your noise but what I would like to know is if the last video helped you to check your timing chain stretch.
That to me sounds like the turbocharger venting. Seems normal but not positiveThanks for that. Here is the other noise I'm getting that usually accompanies the rattle on the other video. In another thread a member is trying to use OBDEleven to perform a DPF Regen. Most of the info found online has not helped them. Another member mentioned they are noticing shortfalls with OBDEleven where certain aspects of control modules can not be accessed for their Treg but works for their other VW vehicle. I wonder if OBDEleven is dropping the ball on these vehicles. Those channels were empty on mine too unfortunately!
