V10 Tandem Pump removal

Hi everyone,

Ripped apart many things to get to the right (passenger) side tandem pump, without engine drop. I'm quite close, but seem to be stuck at almost the finish line. Before you get at the 2 Allen bolts and the one 10mm bolt that attaches it to the head, you have to remove:
  1. The vacuum line
  2. The low pressure fuel line
  3. The servo pipe line
  4. The banjo bolt
Got the vacuum line and low pressure fuel line off (easy enough), and now I am on the servo pipe line. It's got a red clip that you have to remove, and I did. But now, I am having the HARDEST time trying to remove it. Is there some type of way you're supposed to take it off? In a certain position? I have to take this off before I can get to the last one, the banjo bolt. Thanks.

Sorry, somebody else called it a “servo pipe” on another thread and that’s what I was going off of. Yes it looks like some type of electrical connector, it’s round and black. Yeah, I imagine if I have a short 17mm wrench I can probably take off that banjo bolt. That’s the last thing I gotta take off before I get to undoing the bolts that attach the pump to the engine block. If you say that the tandem pump can be taken off without removing that injector harness connector then maybe that’s what I’ll have to do.

Yes cut down a 17mm wrench - then it is possible. I took the vacuum hose off first, then the fuelline and next the pressurized fuelline. Loosen the three bolt to the TP and off it goes. When the pump is off it is for some reason much easier to turn and release the plug. When you put it pack - you might have to “load” the plug.
