If you've been following my "Boost gauges just fitted" thread you will know I've been having trouble with my 04 V10.
Today I've been able to do some better testing not just taking the kids to school, anyway, the stutterering/surging it was doing has slowly dissapeared:D. so now it's a lack of power and holding gears that is the problem. The engine also cranks for about 5 seconds before starting when it's hot.:chainsaw:
This is what it does...accellerating from standstill or slow speed - will change from 1st into 2nd but won't change into 3rd ( won't rev over 3000rpm) and boost on rhs slowly drops to 0psi. when I see it dropping I select 3rd and boost comes back up to 20psi but then it won't change into 4th and boost starts to drop so I change to 4th and boost comes back and same through 5th and 6th. doesn't matter weather I hold it flat or backed off slightly.
Also 0-100 time is about 13.8 secs :( but should be around 8 secs .
I finally got a fault code, 16619 Boost Presure P0235-000-Regulation range not reached.
any Ideas?
Can I check fuel presure with the vcds?

Range not reached is an underboost problem. Either you are losing boost somewhere, have sticking turbo or servo. I'd be checking boost pressures L and R. If they are boosting correctly, follow the piping for leaks. Shifting is always a problem when sluggish torque is coming from the engine.

The fuel pressures can be checked, but as far as I know, it's something you have to do by using a 100lb pressure gauge in the two fuel pumps on the heads. There is a 12mm x 1.5mm plug with a 5mm(?) allen screw and copper crush washer. At idle, the pressure should be 25lbs. At 2,500rpm, it should be 100psi. A fluid damping gauge works best, as the pressure bounces up and down quickly.

I added 300psi gauges and found that I have just 11psi on both sides at all rpms. I removed both fuel pumps and

found all 4 springs that push the vanes onto the center rotor were broken. I replaced the springs and now have good pressure on the right side but still only 29psi on the left. I'm thinking that 1 vane is sticking....will have to pull that pump off again...but the Treg is going waaaay better now...it's fun to drive again...

I am experiencing P0235 Underboost. I replaced my lower right boost hose because it had a pinhole in it. Still have the P0235 warning. Limp Mode occurs when car is cold. If i restart power comes back.
Any suggestions? Where do I check next?

Did you ever get any other codes other than P0235?

Good News!
New C clips and both turbos are working again.
That great news
I was under the idea that the vehicle drove properly sometimes and not others?
how do the missing or damaged clips fix this as it should have been a constant issue if the link arm came off.
Were either or both of the arms off or were they jamming up on the little spherical joint on the btm ?

One one side the clip came off the actuator side and on the other side it was the turbo side c clip missing.

4 new clips and now it runs as it should.
